From sitting across the table from two of England's most notorious serial killers, Myra Hindley and Ian Brady, to heading up the investigation to locate the bodies of the 17 people disappeared during the Troubles in the North, Geoff Knupfer has had a fascinating career.
He sat down with us and took us back to his investigation of the Moor Murders and how a chance question led them to recovering the body of one of the five children killed by Hindley and Brady.
Geoff headed up the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains in the North, a body tasked with gathering confidential information and using it, not for a criminal case, but to find the bodies of The Disappeared and bring them home to allow the families to get closure. He told us about how it felt to discover the first body and how important the immunity offered by the commission is.
f you have any information about the location of the remains of The Disappeared, however small, please contact the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains by leaving a confidential voice message on +353 1 602 8655 or emailing
