Welcome to episode #253 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!In this episode, we dive into some breaking news regarding the future of Call of Duty. As stated by Activision, Call of Duty will no longer do back to back releases for the same developer/series, meaning we will return to the original formula of developers alternating years in the hopes of a more developed game. This begs the question though if they should have COD on a two-year release cycle. What are the benefits of this move, and what are the challenges they would face? Along with this, we discuss a leaked rumor regarding the state of next year’s COD title, and things are not looking good so far. We share our thoughts on what has been rumored, and what is the best path for COD going forward so Activision can hold up to their statement of “we will deliver, and overdeliver, on those expectations going forward.” Finally, we close with our CDL review as we go into the winter break, and share our thoughts on where each team stands currently. Welcome to episode #252 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!In this episode, we break down the first official week of the CDL for Black Ops 7, and we are thrilled to finally have it here. After a few pre-season matches that we covered in past episodes, we finally get to see where most of the teams stand as of now. We break down the matches, who were the stars to look out for, and which teams we feel are already in danger. This is the most competitive year we have had in the CDL, and performing well early in the season is a must. Along with the CDL, the new sniper rule of 2 lives with a sniper per SnD match has been used, and we give our thoughts on this ridiculous rule, and why we should just have snipers in like every other weapon. Welcome to episode #251 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!In this episode, we are just on the cusp of the CDL beginning, and we got another taste of the competition leading into this season with the Kaysan LAN Showdown with the top teams. Though only the top 4 teams were invited, it was a good showcase of where each team stands right before the start of the professional season. We give our early predictions on the top teams for major 1, and also some updates that may be impacting the CDL map pool. With some fan-favorite maps returning in season 1, along with new weapons and buffs/nerfs to weapons, we have a lot to unpack for the beginning of the year on a competitive and casual level. Finally, we end with some news that Nintendo is getting into the Call of Duty market, and will be supporting COD within the next couple years. This was our first taste of competitive for Black Ops 7, and from the outset, we know this is going to be a great year for competitive overall. We cover some of the big takeaways from the weekend’s matches, and who are the teams to be looking out for the most. Though this is not even part of the CDL and is only pre-season, it still gives us insight into how these teams practice has been, and who will be looking good going into Major 1. Welcome to episode #249 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!In this episode, we break down one of the worst campaigns not just in COD history, but in our eyes, even in our time as gamers. Though Black Ops 7 has been a great game on the multiplayer side, the game has received severe backlash for this campaign that seems to not do anything that has made COD campaigns great in the past. From the campaign being online, having no pause feature, poor characters and story, and open world levels, we share our thoughts on each part of the story that has been criticized. We also go into what may have led to this campaign being so poor, and what this means for the future of Call of Duty campaigns. Did you play the campaign? If so, what were your thoughts on it?
