    The Human Recommendation is a weekly radio show on Flirt FM 101.3 in Galway city showcasing the best of indie & alternative music from Ireland and around the globe. But in this special interview side project, host Damien had the opportunity to talk with Oranje, a Calgary EMO math-rock outfit.
    The trio is composed of Joseph Bahhadi on guitar, Michael Buie on bass, and Andrés Mira on drums. The three musicians met during their time at the University of Calgary, in which they were all members of the University’s jazz orchestra. Oranje are classically trained and have played extensively in jazz sessions.
    In a fun conversation, the guys spoke about the city of Calgary and their NHL team, different musical genres including jazz, making this full debut record 'In Chains' and more!
    Interview contains their single “Styrofoam” from their debut album 'In Irons', which was released  independently back in October 2025.

But in this special interview side project, host Damien had the opportunity to talk with Brooklyn-based alt folk indie rock, singer, songwriter, and producer mer marcum who has emerged into the New York City scene.
    Trading her small-town roots of Waco, Texas for Brooklyn’s bustling music scene, mer set out to carve her own niche. She has seemingly started over from scratch, spending the past two years playing a multitude of live shows commanding attention from her live audience. 
    Her first single, "Starting Over," was released in October 2024 followed by "Hours Off" and 2025’s “Junkyard Dog” and “Green Saturn” via Acrophase Records & Secretly Distribution.

But in this special interview side project, host Damien had the opportunity to talk with Mehrt and Jah from New Zealand band Mild Orange. 
    Forming in Dunedin in 2017, Mild Orange have built an international following on the back of their independently released debut album, 'Foreplay' which reached every corner of the globe on YouTube with the singles ‘Some Feeling’ and ‘Mysight’. 
    Mild Orange have since become known for their alternative blend of sun-drenched dream pop and psychedelic rock sounds all while remaining independent. 
    After releasing their third album 'Looking For Space' the band relocated to London where they began working on their fourth album THE//GLOW which drops August 8th!
