I recently attended Mass at a different church. During the Mass, the priest recognized a married couple’s wedding anniversary and asked everyone to extend their hand toward the couple as he prayed a blessing. I would like a better understanding of papal infallibility. It was my belief that any teaching from the pope regarding faith and morals is infallible. Recently, that seems to have been restricted solely to ex cathedra statements. The Catechism of the Catholic Church uses the expression that the pontiff enjoys infallibility when “he proclaims by a definitive act a doctrine pertaining to faith or morals”. Can you clarify this, Father?

I recently attended a Mass that was preceded by a miraculous medal novena. When it came time to celebrate the Mass, the priest omitted everything up to the Collect, including the Confiteor and Kyrie.

If the priest omits the Confiteor/Kyrie (with no other replacement for the Penitential Act), should the faithful refrain from receiving Holy Communion as their venial sins were not forgiven? Also, was this Mass valid with these omissions?

A parent obtained an SAT fee waiver using inaccurate income information without the student's knowledge. After discovering this, the student offered to repay College Board, but they refused payment.

The student knows they were ineligible and would make no further false statements. Is it morally permissible to continue using the remaining free SAT score sends, or must the student stop to avoid continuing to benefit from an injustice?

There are Eucharistic adoration chapels with 24hour access, and have what looks like a tabernacle with the monstrance inside, that has a sign that says to 'open when arriving and close when leaving'.  Is that allowed for regular laity to come in and out of, or should something like that only be accessible for priests?
