South Carolina Serial Killer Pee Wee Gaskins's Defense Attorney Tells His Story
This episode starts with a few minutes of taking listener comments and questions. Then a replay of an episode from November 2023. A few weeks ago Matt and Seton Interviewed Dick Harpootlian who prosecuted Pee Wee Gaskins. In this episode you will hear from the other side of the courtroom in the Gaskins trial. Donald Henry "Pee Wee" Gaskins Jr. is one of South Carolina's most notorious serial killers. He murdered more than a dozen people between 1970 and 1975. Gaskins was sentenced to 10 concurrent life sentences. While serving his sentence at Central Correctional Institute (CCI) prison in Columbia, South Carolina, he murdered another inmate. Dick Harpootlian prosecuted Pee Wee and Jack Swerling defended Pee Wee Gaskins. Gaskins was sentenced to death, which was administered in September of 1991. Colucci Retrial: Case Dismissed for Now
Michael Colucci, a Summerville, South Carolina jeweler, was once again on trial for the death of his wife, seven years after his initial trial ended in a mistrial. Michael Colucci is accused of killing his wife, Sara Lynn Colucci, in May 2015. During his first trial in 2018, prosecutors alleged that Michael strangled Sara. His defense argued that she died by suicide, claiming she hanged herself with a garden hose on a nearby fence while Michael was sitting in their car just 25 feet away. Just moments before Colucci's trial was set to begin, Judge Roger Young ruled in favor of the defense motion to dismiss the case. Seton tucker was there for the shocking decision. Justice Revisited: Retrial of Alleged Murderer Michael Colucci
Michael Colucci, a Summerville, South Carolina jeweler, is once again on trial for the death of his wife, seven years after his initial trial ended in a mistrial. Michael Colucci is accused of killing his wife, Sara Lynn Colucci, in May 2015. During his first trial in 2018, prosecutors alleged that Michael strangled Sara. The 4th Anniversary of the Murders of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh
June 7, 2021 Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were found murdered on their estate in rural Colleton County, SC. Prominent South Carolina attorney, Alex Murdaugh made the 911 call to authorities about the murders. After a nearly six week trial Alex Murdaugh was found guilty of killing his wife and son on July 14, 2022. Murdaugh is appealing the conviction. Attorney Matt Siembieda Explains SC Stand Your Ground Law & How it Applies to Spivey Case
A 2023 road rage incident near Myrtle Beach turned deadly. Weldon Boyd fatally shot and killed 33 year old Scott Spivey. Boyd claimed self defense under South Carolina's Stand Your Ground Law. Questions emerged about the investigation after Boyd's phone calls were released. There are also questions abut Boyd's relationship with law enforcement and how the investigation was handled In this episode we discuss South Carolina's Stand Your Ground Law with Seton's father and attorney Matt Siembieda. About Impact of Influence: The Murdaugh Family Murders and Other Cases

The Murdaugh family was one of South Carolina's most powerful legal families. Three generations of Murdaughs held the position of solicitor in the lowcountry for almost one hundred years. In February of 2019 a boat crash killed 19 year old Mallory Beach. Paul Murdaugh, the son of prominent SC attorney, Alex Murdaugh, was charged with three felony counts of boating under the influence, including causing the death of Mallory Beach. June 7, 2021 Alex Murdaugh found his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, brutally murdered, shot to death on their property known as Moselle. On March 2, 2023 Alex was convicted of murdering Maggie and Paul. Between the murders and the convictions many other crimes came to light. No one could have expected the twists and turns the story has taken and it is not finished.
