  • 280. When Tracking Every Dollar Stresses You Out, Try this
Opening Bible verse: Mark 16:1-8 Does the constant tracking of money stress you out? Do you feel the resentment building when you see your spouse buying a bagel even if the money is there? I felt the same for years. While we have to know where our money is going, at some point, we can ease up on the tracking. How do we do this? First, you have to make sure your monthly spending is in line with recommended percentages. Fixed Costs (the bills) are about 50-60%. Your long term investments (retirement) is about 10% and your short term savings (emergency fund/sinking funds) are 5-10%. This leaves you about 20-35% for everything else (discretionary spending). For me, this is grocery money and anything else for the family. These are the only two categories I now track in my spending app. I use Everydollar app. Find the one that works for you. Twice per month I look at the bank balances and savings accounts. Otherwise, I trust that our money is going where it's supposed to go.  Some months are more expensive than others, so you can begin to track your monthly spending in the budgeting app. It will allow you to prepare for next year. You'll be able to better predict what you'll spend and reduce as many surprises as possible. Your money should be boring, that's the goal. Set it and forget it! Would you like 1:1 support with your spending, decluttering or running of your home? Schedule your 1:1 coaching call today March Coaching Calendar Oncer per month I offer a free and live zoom with a group rosary or topic such as decluttering, budgeting or meal planning. About Pruning To Prosper/ Catholic, Declutter, Organize, Motivation, Budget, Meal Plan

****TOP 2.5% GLOBALLY-RANKED PODCAST**** Are you waking up exhausted and overwhelmed before the day even begins? Is your mind as disorganized as your house? Is the stress of the clutter, debt, and what to make for dinner…again, wreaking havoc on your health, parenting and marriage? Do you wish you had one authentic Catholic friend who understood your struggles? I am so excited you’re here! This podcast will teach you how to create a clutter-free, organized home that practically runs itself, with dinner on the table every night, enough money to stop living paycheck to paycheck and God at the center of it all! Hi, I’m Gina. A Catholic wife, mom and declutter coach. For twenty years, I made sure my home was organized and running efficiently; we ate healthy, homemade dinners, the laundry was done, and the bills were paid on time, yet, I still felt like something was missing. I thought if my home looked like it belonged in a magazine, my family dined on gourmet meals and I stayed out of debt, life would be peaceful and perfect. I finally realized that I was searching for fulfillment and validation from the outside world. Yes, I needed my home to run efficiently, but I felt a nagging in my heart that I was made for more. If I was going to have a full life with the peace that transcends human understanding, I needed to make God the center. I needed to put Him in charge instead of feeling like it was all up to me. I created a plan that fits ME. Simple routines to incorporate faith into my daily tasks. A lifestyle that’s allowing me to prosper into the woman God is calling me to be. And I’m ready to share it with you! If you are tired of waiting for motivation to strike and you are ready to do the work to declutter your home, plan meals your family will actually eat, break free from living paycheck to paycheck, learn to implement routines for a peaceful home that practically runs itself, AND make a new Catholic BFF who wants to share in your joys and struggles, - this podcast is for you! Grab your garden shears because you’re about to prune away the clutter of life so you can prosper into the woman God has called YOU to be!
