In Paris, some 800,000 people thronged to the Champs-Élysées to welcome Pope Leo. During a visit to the "miracle shrine" town of Lourdes, he acknowledged that the Catholic Church must admit its own failings and heal "deep wounds" before meeting with seven survivors of abuse. Though once staunchly Catholic, only five percent of French people now say they attend Church regularly. David Gibson, director of the Center on Religion and Culture at Fordham University, and Father Thomas Reese, a senior analyst at the Religion News Service, join Christiane to discuss the Pope's visit.

Top US and Iranian officials have held their first talks since the June ceasefire unraveled, mediated by Qatar.
