- Every year I receive a few emails asking me which communities are good, or if I have any advice for those discerning religious life. In this podcast I discuss what I am able to divulge about specific communities. I also discuss why it can be difficult to see red flags in communities until you are a member, while sharing a few strategies for spotting red flags while still initially discerning with a community.

About Call for Convent Reform
Religious order abuse is a problem in the Catholic Church that is too often not exposed for fear of reprisal, cover-up, or a false sense of "scandalizing" the Church. Ignoring the problem does not make it go away. Some Catholics who left everything to follow God are suffering under the thumb of superiors who have used their role to manipulate, torment, and abuse those they are called to serve as Christ served. If you are a former member of a religious community and you are looking for resources, or would like to get your story out, please contact Alycia at conventreform@wordpress.org.
