It's Giving Laughs First Then the Truth

    14/1/2026 | 40 mins.
In this week’s episode of I Said What I Said, Shane is joined by Beth Wyer, host of the Go Loud podcast Tipsy Topics, for a laugh out loud, real conversation. They kick things off with one of those stories you genuinely have to hear to believe, before wandering into chats about the evil eye, life in the spotlight, and what it’s really like to be unfiltered online.
Things get honest as Shane and Beth talk about living with ADHD and OCD, the truths about medication and support, and why speaking openly about hard stuff actually matters. This one’s funny, honest, relatable, and insightful.

    It's Giving Nothing But Honesty

    17/12/2025 | 37 mins.
By huge demand, Shane McCarthy is joined by Josephine Duffy for an honest, open conversation.
Shane opens up about the pressure he sometimes feels to always be funny, even on the days when he is not in a great headspace. Josephine shares how she deals with those expectations and how she stays grounded when things feel heavy.
Josephine talks about her life as a settled woman married to a Traveller man and shares her version of the story in her own words. She also explains the famous fishy fishy story and why she has chosen to step away from it.
They speak about creating content online, why Josephine does not see herself as famous, and the importance of respecting your kids, your family, and those closest to you if they do not want to be part of social media, and how they navigate those boundaries.
There are plenty of laughs as Shane and Josephine reminisce about their trip to Lithuania, alongside real talk and thoughtful advice for anyone struggling at this time of year.

It's Giving Lithuania trip & Turkey Teeth Regrets

    10/12/2025 | 35 mins.
Shane is back and he is in flying form this week. He starts off telling us about the chaos of his last few days from going to D Block Europe to randomly landing himself in Lithuania and even taking a buggy instead of a cab because only Shane would end up doing that. He finally got to spend proper time with his friends and he is laughing about having his boyfriend’s Christmas present sorted while everyone else around him is still lost.
Then he gets real and talks about why Christmas means so much to him. He speaks about the importance of staying grateful for what you have and remembering the people who sadly did not make it to this Christmas. It is honest grounding and very typical Shane.
He also opens up about the reason he went to Lithuania and the procedure he is thinking about getting. He talks about the reality of cosmetic work and how important it is to know exactly where you are going. He looks back on the things he regrets like his turkey teeth and the things he loved like his hair transplant. He is very aware that young people watch and listen to him so he is careful about being honest about the risks and the decisions behind it.
Shane reflects on how crazy this year has been for him. He set goals last year that felt out of reach and now heading out of 2025 he has hit almost all of them. He talks about how wild that feels and reminds everyone that he is just a normal person who works hard and tries his best.
He also shares something new. He would love to move into acting. He recently did a project for women's breast cancer and he talks about what that experience meant to him and why it lit something up inside him.
Then he dives into manifestation. He explains how he manifests in his own life and how it has worked for him. He even tells a story about helping a girl manifest getting her own place and how it all came true for her. Shane being Shane he mixes the deep stuff with humour and a bit of madness but the message comes across loud and clear.
He also talks about something he really wants for the future. It is not in the works yet but he would love to do a live show. He chats about why he believes it would work what he wants it to look like and what he needs to do to make it happen.
Of course he brings the everyday chaos too. He chats about how tough it is on the run up to Christmas and over Christmas with all the food and how much of a struggle it can be for him. And he finishes off by talking about getting invited to a TikTok event and what that felt like.
It is a full on episode filled with honesty laughs chaos and real talk from start to finish.
