She is Chancellor of the University of Leicester and is the first black woman to win a  gold medal in the Physics News Award. She also previously served as President of the British Science Association. But as the dyslexic daughter of Nigerian immigrants, her journey hasn’t been the easiest and she is committed to breaking down barriers relating to race, class and gender.
