  • Charlotte Church, a savoury cheese cake and a pinot noir
This week Nick and Angela welcome Charlotte Church to Dish HQ. Charlotte Church released her debut album Voice of an Angel in 1998  - she was twelve. Since then, she has become one of the most recognisable names in music, selling more than ten million albums worldwide. Charlotte has performed for Queen Elizabeth, the Pope and at George Bush’s inauguration. She fronted The Charlotte Church Show for three seasons and won Best Female Newcomer award at the British Comedy Awards in 2006. These days, life is entirely different for Charlotte Church and her family. They live in accordance with nature in the heart of rural Wales and Charlotte runs a wellness retreat called The Dreaming. Nick mixes a raspberry and ginger fizz mocktail while Angela serves a show-stopping savoury cheesecake with balsamic glazed vegetables. The meal is paired with a delicious Yering Station The Elms Pinot Noir. Conversation flowed beautifully from  The Masked Singer to meditation, mushrooms and Mother Nature. • Comedian Nish Kumar, gnocchi with roasted red pepper and chilli pesto
This week Nick and Angela welcome Nish Kumar to Dish HQ. Nish is a critically acclaimed comic who has won rave reviews and prestigious award nominations for his stand-up. Away from the comedy circuit, he is a regular on TV shows like 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Live at the Apollo and Taskmaster, and can often be heard presenting The News Quiz on BBC Radio 4. This year, you may have caught him on the hilarious Sky TV series Hold the Front Page, alongside Josh Widdicombe, or heard his brand-new political podcast, Pod Save the UK, from the makers of the hugely successful Pod Save America. Angela Harnett leads a masterclass in Italian cooking on this episode of Dish, making gnocchi from scratch. (For the rest of us, it’s available readymade at Waitrose) The meal is paired with a delicious white wine, Triade Bianco. Nish Kumar brings plenty of laughter to the table, discussing food (the best meal he’s had in India), family (his parents' ploy to make him grow up) and friendship (what he really thinks of Ed Gamble and James Acaster). Nick and Angela welcome comedian Aisling Bea to Dish HQ. Aisling is an award-winning comedian, actor and writer. She created, wrote and starred in the comedy series This Way Up on Channel 4 with Sharon Horgan. Aisling also starred in the Netflix show Living with Myself alongside Paul Rudd in 2019 and 2020, winning a BAFTA for Breakthrough Talent. Angela prepares a tasty niçoise salad with Jersey Royals and tuna steak. The meal is paired with a Chapel Down Bacchus and Nick serves a whiskey, ginger and lime, Aisling’s favourite tipple. Hailing from the Emerald Isle, Aisling's love affair with the humble spud lends itself to some hilarious conversation. Our threesome cover comedy and embarrassing headlines, and the Dish team challenges Aisling to an after-dinner game with a difference. Aisling Bea stars in the new Take That musical movie, Greatest Days, with friend of Dish, Jayde Adams. It’s in cinemas 16 June, 2023. • Scott Mills, sea bass with sauce vierge, new potatoes & asparagus
It’s Eurovision week and Nick and Angela are joined by superfan Scott Mills. Scott fulfilled a childhood dream when he joined BBC Radio 1 in 1998 – and he's now the network's longest serving daytime presenter. He has won many awards for his work, including an ARIA for Best Music Entertainment Show in 2021. Scott made the move to BBC Radio 2 last year, taking over from Steve Wright in the afternoon. He has had memorable stints on Gogglebox with Sam Ryder, and on Strictly Come Dancing, where he was an instant hit with the audience for his amazing under-the-sea routine! Scott Mills is presenting the Eurovision semi-finals alongside Rylan Clark on BBC 1 this year. As our guest is a big fish fan, Angela prepares some delicious sea bass with a sauce vierge, new potatoes and asparagus. Nick pours the wine, a Bernard Fouquet Cuvée de Silex Vouvray, and the three reminisce on the halcyon days of Radio 1 and how Scott ended up living with David Hasselhoff.
