Episode 3: Kilmichael Ambush Pt.2 Examining the False Surrender
Part 2 in a 2 part series. In this episode, I cover the controversial false surrender in the Kilmichael Ambush, one of the most talked-about incidents during the Irish War of Independence, examining both sides of the argument and taking multiple accounts from those who believe there was no false surrender and those who say there was.
I explore the incredible research in books by Eve Morrison, Meda Ryan, Sean Murphy and Peter Hart, as well as survivor accounts, analyzing the sources and challenging some of the claims made by historians.
This is the second episode in a two part series on the Kilmichael Ambush and the events surrounding it, widely regarded as the most important victory in the war.
