Come along as we untangle Stacy’s director commentary, the 30-minute “Feature Primitive” mini documentary, behind-the-scenes footage from the Blue Tile Lounge world premiere back in 1985, and a forgotten track by the Rad Man himself. Today on the Bones Brigade Audio Show, the big fat ollie one-foots are being thrown down with reckless abandon as we welcome back the one and only Frankie Hill- along with skateboarding legend Nate Sherwood- to discuss the 2011 Frankie Hill Documentary! Before the world knew the likes of Pat Duffy, Andrew Reynolds or John Cardiel, Frankie Hill was hurling himself down giant stair sets and massive gaps with a borderline-psychotic level of commitment that helped redraw the entire map of street skating. Sherwood’s documentary peels back the curtain on Frankie’s meteoric rise, the toll his all-in approach took on his body, and the darker side of the industry- where riders sometimes become expendable once the injuries stack up. As usual, we get into the weeds on all of it- the inspiration behind its creation, tales from the making-of, and the documentary’s legacy; shining a light on the lasting influence of a skateboarder who pushed limits long before everyone else caught up. Welcome back, carnivores and amphibians! It’s time for yet another delve into the mysterious world of the SK8-TV Files, this time with the oddly themed Episode 8- better known as “the animal show”. Heavily Powell-centric, this offering contains interviews with Tommy Guerrero, Salman Agah at the short-lived outdoor Skate Zone, one of the greatest Lance Mountain interviews ever committed to tape, and plenty of recycled ‘Brigadery, from the dubiously-renamed Scooter Race from Ban This to a reappearance of Sidney the Bulldog from Public Domain. True to its name, peppered throughout the show is also a hearty, if perhaps unnecessary dose of animal-related content, a sighting of the fabled Steve Salisian, and much more.
