1 Kings 18 reveals that while Elijah called down fire to demonstrate God’s power against false worship, his persistent prayer for rain teaches that spiritual revival requires believers to hunger for God’s presence and pray earnestly for His mercy to transform their communities and nations.

Join us for a detour in 1 Kings 17 with Priscilla Shirer.

1 Kings 17 shows how Elijah confronted Israel’s wickedness during a three-year drought, reminding the nation that God’s answer was already revealed in Solomon’s prayer: repentance, confession, and a return to God would bring forgiveness and restoration.

1 Kings 16 recounts how Hiel rebuilt Jericho despite God’s ancient warning through Joshua, losing both his sons as a result and demonstrating that God’s truth does not expire with time and cannot be challenged without consequences.

1 Kings 15 reveals that God identified Uriah the Hittite, rather than Bathsheba, as the exception to David’s faithfulness, emphasizing that David’s deeper failure was trying to cover up his sin instead of humbling himself, confessing, and allowing God to change his heart.
