Animal What? Update, Our New Obsession, and Chloe’s Back

    20/03/2026 | 46 mins.
Welcome back to Gotta Game For You — in this week’s episode, Meghan, Shelby and Lina dive into the latest game updates, upcoming releases, and the games they've been playing, including Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Overwatch, and a few things we’re currently excited about in the gaming world.
A few games have recently received updates that caught our attention, although we might not have all been on the same page about which. Animal Crossing: New Horizons recently received its Version 3.0 update, bringing a wave of new content back to the game years after its original peak. The update introduces features like Slumber Islands, a Resort Hotel where you can design themed rooms, expanded home storage, new items and collaborations, and several quality-of-life improvements. It’s enough to make jumping back in feel tempting… but the big question is: has this update come too late?
Meanwhile, Overwatch continues evolving with roster changes and new heroes entering the game, giving players more strategies and playstyles to experiment with.
We also talk about some games we’re especially excited about right now. Pokémon Pokopia has been catching our attention as a cozy Pokémon-style experience with exploration and life-sim elements. Hytale is in early access, giving players their first chance to explore its sandbox world and creative systems. And there are several upcoming titles we’re keeping a close eye on, including Crisol, a brand-new Resident Evil entry, Reanimal, and Planet of Lana II.

CaitVi, Ever-Growing Backlogs, and The Year Ahead

    20/02/2026 | 43 mins.
Welcome back to Gotta Game For You — it’s our first episode of 2026, and we’re kicking off the year with a big look back at everything we played in 2025. From surprise favorites to unfinished adventures, this episode is all about our backlogs, our standout experiences, and our predictions for the year ahead.
Last year we dipped into a lot of games — more than we could ever fully complete — which led to some very real backlog reflections. Lina spent lots of time with Fields of Mistria, diving into its relationship-building systems, while also exploring games like Enigma Cases, Marvel Rivals, American Truck Simulator, Battlefield 6, Grounded 2. Meghan spent the year jumping into a wide mix of games including Baldur’s Gate 3, Expedition 33, Balatro, Date Everything, Keeper, Split Fiction, and Little Nightmares 3. Shelby explored everything from cozy to eerie with Dredge, Tiny Bookshop, Subnautica, Tavern Talk, Little Nightmares 3, and Escape Simulator 2.
We also break down our completed games from the year — a surprisingly long list featuring titles like Coffee Talk, Blue Prince, Venba, South of Midnight, Fields of Mistria, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and many more.
Of course, a new year means new goals, so we’re setting our official 2026 game completion predictions. Meghan aims for 30, Shelby shoots for 40, and Lina is aiming for 60, a number that is somehow both alarming and entirely believable.
This episode also features a special developer conversation with Caroline Montano, a champion designer on 2XKO, discussing the creation of Caitlyn — how the character draws from both Arcane and League of Legends, the design philosophy behind her mechanics, and the challenge of making a character that feels right for fans across different genres.
To wrap things up, we share what we’re currently playing — from Overwatch to Old School RuneScape to Minecraft — and what’s next on our playlists. With so many incredible games on the horizon, this year already looks stacked — and we’re more than ready to dive in.
Follow @gottagameforyou for more gameplay discussions, dev interviews, and game-filled chaos — and let us know what YOU played last year.

Brutal Fighters, Giant Bugs, and a Living Lighthouse | GGFY Summer Game Fest Special Finale

    26/12/2025 | 24 mins.
Welcome back to Gotta Game For You — we’re at the end of our Summer Game Fest 2025 coverage with Episode 20: Part Seven, the last episode of the year! And we’re talking all about Xbox.
In our final SGF segment, Meghan (‪‪@Strawburry17‬) and Lina (Luba_DO) are talking about three games — Invincible VS, Grounded 2, and Keeper — and we’re also getting an exclusive interview with the creative director for Keeper, Lee Petty from Double Fine!
In Invincible VS, we’re entering the Invincible universe from the comic books and tv show, and fighting out in a 3v3 fighter where you not only take damage, you wear it! Fighters are as true to the source materials as they can be with the raw edge, brutality and move sets you’d expect.
Grounded 2 is here and we’re revisiting the same teens who were shrunk down by a mad scientist and left to fend for themselves  against bugs and creatures that are now gigantic in comparison. Except now they’ve escaped into a park, and now the bugs are even bigger, smarter and more aggressive. With even more secrets to uncover, you get to ride your bugs into the battle!
Keeper is about a little lighthouse suddenly brought to life in a world plagued by corruption and darkness. Along with your little sea bird friend, take your light and fight back against the dark, in this atmospheric puzzle adventure game.
We also have the inside scoop about the Xbox showcase. Xbox has loads of new and exciting titles coming and Lina shares with us some of her favorites including There Are No Ghosts At The Grand, Planet Of Lana 2, and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
We’re finally at the end of our Summer Game Fest series and the end of the year! We’re so grateful to have had another year of talking all things games with you guys. The new year will bring new episodes and new games to check out and we can’t wait to share it all with you! Happy Holidays from everyone at Gotta Game For You! 🎄🎁
Follow @gottagameforyou for more gameplay reactions, dev conversations, and games you’ve gotta play — and if there’s a game you think we should check out, let us know.

Endless Depths, Tiny Heroes, and Love Without Words | GGFY Summer Game Fest Special Part 6

    13/12/2025 | 14 mins.
Welcome back to Gotta Game For You — we’re continuing our Summer Game Fest 2025 coverage with Episode 19: Part Six, a special spotlight on upcoming titles from Epic Games Publishing.
Epic might be best known for Fortnite, but this episode proves their publishing lineup is doing some really interesting things. Meghan (‪@Strawburry17‬) and Shelby (‪@Shubble‬) step into three very different games — End of Abyss, End of Abyss, and Out of Words — each with a distinct tone, scale, and emotional core.
In End of Abyss, we descended into a forgotten underground facility where the deeper you go, the more hostile everything feels. With strong atmospheric influences and a constant sense of tension, this one stuck with us long after the demo ended. The team at Section 9 Interactive walked us through the world and the ideas behind its eerie design.
Next we explored the hostile alien world of Infinitesimal, where everything is bigger, deadlier, and absolutely not built for someone your size. Playing alongside the dev team gave us a deeper look at how scale, survival, and discovery shape every moment.
We wrap things up with Out of Words, a quiet, emotional co-op experience about connection without dialogue. Built entirely by hand with stop-motion characters and clay environments, it’s a game that communicates through movement, trust, and timing — and playing it alongside the developers made its intention and care really shine.
We’re almost at the end of our Summer Game Fest series with just one more episode to go. Next up, we dive into our Xbox coverage with Invincible, Grounded 2, and Keeper, plus an exclusive interview with Lee Petty.
Follow @gottagameforyou for more gameplay reactions, dev conversations, and games you’ve gotta play — and if there’s a game you think we should check out, let us know.
