On this week's edition of the podcast Peter and Ronan sit down to take stock on what a glorious fortnight for Irish golf it has been and for the county of Clare after Lahinch and Doonbeg were the stage for two famous days.

Shane Lowry rewrote the narrative of his season with a clinical thumping display of front running as he pummelled the field into submission to win his second Irish Open and his first victory since 2022. Just south in The Netherlands, Leona Maguire also changed the fortunes of her year as she played a key role in helping Europe win back the Solheim Cup with a thrilling win over the USA. The touch paper was lit though by one of sport's greatest comebacks as GB&I downed the USA in Lahinch for their first triumph since 2015.

On this week's edition of the podcast, Ronan returns from EP to sit in the hot seat as Mark dials in from sunny Sligo! The lads react to the KPMG Women's Irish Open at the K Club which kicked off a very busy period of tournaments on the island of Ireland. 

Ireland will play host to stars of the future and past this week as the Walker Cup in Lahinch and NI Legends in Galgorm Castle takes centre stage while the lads also wax lyrical over Scottie Scheffler and DP World Tour Q-School is in full swing.

Irish Golfer Event Series 2026

On this week's edition of the podcast Peter and Ronan chat about what appears on the face of it to be an underwhelming Walker Cup after only Stuart Grehan was part of Dean Robertson's ten man GB&I team to face the USA in two weeks. Thomas Higgins and David Howard are both first and second reserves but should Robertson have added one more Irishman to the team?

The lads would like to see some aligned thinking between Golf Ireland and the PGA in Ireland where our aspiring professionals get some tournament exposure at home instead of being thrown into the deep end on the mini tours abroad.

We also wax lyrical about Beth Coulter's one and hopefully back to back wins on the LET Access Tour while they give full backing to Leona Maguire's Solheim Cup wildcard selection for next month's contest as she makes her fourth appearance against the USA.
