Manchester is RED - Manchester United podcast

Steven Railston and Tyrone Marshall react to the fallout from Lisandro Martinez's explosive post-match interview following Manchester United's 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid.

The lads discuss Martinez's frustration over the club's lack of transfer investment, his specific targeting of Jason Wilcox, and the chaotic aftermath— including the defender being smuggled into training in the back of a Toyota Prius.

They also analyse Martinez's carefully worded apology, which addressed the timing of his comments but stood by the substance of his claims.

Tyrone Marshall reports from the bowels of the Metropolitano Stadium following Manchester United's 1-0 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.

This episode of the Manchester is Red podcast breaks down the chaotic night, starting with the controversial VAR decision that saw Leny Yoro sent off and the team's subsequent struggle to compete with ten men.

The major talking point is Lisandro Martinez's stunning post-match interview, where he launched a blistering attack on United executives—specifically naming Technical Director Jason Wilcox—over the club's lack of ambition and inadequate summer transfer window spending.

With the club sitting on just two wins in nine games, Ty discusses the mounting pressure on manager Michael Carrick, his contrasting style to other available managers like Antonio Conte, and the mass exodus of frustrated United fans from the away end before the final whistle.

Steven Railston and Tyrone Marshall assess the latest news on JJ Gabriel as United risk losing the 16-year-old for a fee as low as £350,000.

Could the club having given the teenager the game time his camp demanded? Or would that have had a detrimental affect on the rest of the squad?

The pair then look ahead to a huge trio of fixtures as Michael Carrick looks to get United back on track: Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and Leeds.
