Resolutions & Reparations
02/1/2026 | 8 mins.
🥳🥳🥳Happy New Year!2025 was hard for me. I'm so grateful for a new year, new slate and I pray yours is even better than I pray for you all. There's a short "episode" today. Big kudos to @faizifortexas running for Texas Comptroller. Do BIG things, y'all, even if you have to do them scared. 🙌🏾🙌🏾⚠⚠ BUT a warning to those in the DMV: Swipe left to witness those closest to Allah, who can't communicate with words. And then listen to what I reported about @rnacoordinates behavior and their refusal to make reasonable, long lasting reparations via @muhsen. Send them a message and find other planners who don't just do their jobs, they care about and practice DEI. Our faith requires that we be DEI, and of course, the West has colonized the term for our way of life. We are all accountable to Allah, especially when we wrong the most vulnerable among us. No, I don't call out women, but I have zero tolerance for those who reject sincere naseeha (advice) and dig deeper into their ignorance. As always, send me your sincere naseeha and feedback. Tune in now and next week. 🎧#doitscared #inclusivity #dei #autismspeaks #savantDid you know you can send us a text? Feedback, questions, or recommendations welcomed!Support the show1. Bridging Age Gaps Through Olive Community Services
17/5/2025 | 40 mins.
STILL catching up on nonprofit features, and for those of you looking to burn through your donation allotment to zakat and sadaqa this year, may Allah SWT make your scales heavy in the Hereafter and your wallets fat in this world. It's completely on me that you didn't get this episode in time for the end of Ramadan, but don't let my shortcomings hamper your generosity towards those organizations providing invaluable services due to our parents' generations.Zainab Hussaini is the fairy godmother of Olivers in #orangecounty, but she identifies as Program Manager @olivecommunityservices. She's on today to focus on the success and schedule of Olive in SoCal and I pick her brain to find out how we can bring some of that khair into our own communities. Tune in now and share this episode with your imams, masjid social boards and golden population today. Ask for a khutbah on serving our best generations and put some money behind the initiatives. One day, we will ALL need them.Links:Olive Community Services on the Web: https://www.olivecs.org/Olive Community Services on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/olivecommunityservicesFB: Mommying While Muslim page and Mommyingwhilemuslim groupIG: @mommyingwhilemuslimpodcastYouTubeDid you know you can send us a text? Mutual Aid For Palestinians & Sudanese in Egypt
08/5/2025 | 49 mins.
🎙Just dropped a powerful episode with @jessicaelgamil who spent 6 months on the ground in Egypt, where she supported mutual aid efforts for Palestinians and Sudanese people. This was recorded months ago in an effort to put it in series, but I am so behind schedule now and couldn't wait longer for it to go out. I know I've been gone for upwards of 6 weeks, and you can find out why by tuning in. Prayers welcome for my mother's speedy recovery and cure! 📿🎧Hear about the differences in status and why they matter in resource distribution, and the intentions and barriers displaced people face as a result. Find out what both exploitation and generosity look like in local Egypt, and how mutual aid networks can do their work by avoiding red tape 🔴and just GETTING IT DONE.Jessica shares lessons from the frontlines and what it takes to make mutual aid sustainable and rooted in care, not charity. This convo is a must-listen for anyone trying to do more than repost. Tune in at 6pm EST and share this episode with a friend who wants TO DO something to subvert genocide and displacement, and contact Jessica today!Links:1. Contact Jessica on IG: @jessicaelgamil2.
