Champions Arsenal make an early statement

    07/09/2026 | 46 mins.
Arsenal have won the first blockbuster game of the new Premier League season and remain unbeaten after three games.

Sam Matterface, Alex Crook and Troy Deeney unpack an entertaining game at the Emirates where the Gunners had to come from behind against Chelsea to secure all three points against their London rivals.

Elsewhere Everton came from behind twice to draw with Man United, their deadline day signing Ainsley Maitland Niles scored arguably the goal of the season so far with the final kick of the game at Hill Dickinson.

There's praise for Erling Haaland who bagged his 300th club career goal and more questions about Spurs who are yet to get off the mark this season after their big spending summer.

Bruno buries Ipswich, Chelsea the entertainers & high flying Hull

    31/08/2026 | 54 mins.
Sam Matterface, Alex Crook and Troy Deeney unpack a busy weekend of action in the Premier League!

Man United bounced back from their shock defeat to Hull by hammering Ipswich, but Troy still isn't convinced they can compete on all fronts this season based on the performance.

Chelsea produced another goalfest, this time a 4-3 win over Brighton, and with just 25% possession. Can Xabi Alonso's side be title contenders with such a leaky defence?

Elsewhere, Hull made it 2/2 with a win away at Coventry and Spurs can spend all the money in the world, but they cannot buy themselves a Premier League win, they lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle.

City's new midfield, Barcola picks Liverpool and Savio sparkles at Spurs

    27/08/2026 | 56 mins.
Week two of the Premier League is fast approaching and Sam Matterface is alongside talkSPORT's Alex Crook and Troy Deeney to look ahead to a busy weekend!

Man City kick us off on Friday night against Crystal Palace, will we see their new midfielder Ayoubb Bouaddi, and just what kind of impact can the 18 year old Moroccan have in his debut campaign in the Premier League?

Elsewhere Andoni Iraola takes charge of his first Premier League game as Liverpool boss, he takes on a Nottngham Forest side who have lost both games so far this season under Oliver Glasner, will Marinakis be feeling twitchy if the Tricky Trees lose a third straight game in a row?

Spurs new signing Savio, formerly known as Savinho, made an instant impact on his debut midweek against Charlton, next up for them is a tougher test against Newcastle who are looking upwardly mobile following the arrival of Matthias Jaissle.

Plus, we ask if Chelsea are an Emi Martinez signing away being title contenders and how nervous should Michael Carrick be about the prospect of facing another promoted side when Man United take on Ipswich?

King Kev remembered, Emery vs Watkins & Man U mauled by the Tigers

    24/08/2026 | 51 mins.
Week one of the Premier League is in the books! And what a weekend it was!

Sam Matterface is alongside talkSPORT's Alex Crook and Troy Deeney to unpack all the weekend's action.

Newcastle and Liverpool both paid tributes to the late, great Kevin Keegan in fitting fashion, playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw at St James's Park, but were the hosts unfortunate to concede a last minute penalty?

Elsewhere it was an afternoon to forget for Aston Villa, they were hammered 4-0 by Brighton and it could have been much much worse. Ollie Watkins missed the game ahead of an impending move to Saudi Arabia and his manager Unai Emery was not pleased, Troy tells him he has nothing to moan about.

Plus, we get Crooky's verdict on his big day out at the MKM to watch Hull beat Man United, Troy basks in the glory of Spurs defeat to Brentford, and we pick some heroes and villains from the opening weekend.
