Embrace the Matrisphere with the extraordinary Perdita Finn! Perdita is the author of Take Back the Magic: Conversations with the Unseen World, Mothers of Magic: Summoning the Wisdom of Our Ancestors, and with her husband Clark Strand The Way of the Rose: The Radical Path of the Divine Feminine Hidden in the Rosary. She teaches popular workshops on connecting and collaborating with both the dead and the animate everything. She lives with her family in the moss-filled shadows of the Catskill Mountains. She is on Facebook and Instagram and writes a popular Substack: Take Back the Magic. Perdita ends our episode with a visualization to call upon animal spirits Mothers to awaken the magic that's inside you.

Perdita began summoning Divine Mothers and her ancestral grandmothers to help her with motherhood because she did not have the mothering she needed to be a mother and that her mother was not capable of giving her that mothering. She also taught workshops to help others summon their ancient mothers and grandmothers. And to explore the many orbits of Motherhood and how we can call on animals, ancestors, spirits, future mothers that are accessible to help us on our journeys through life. Part of her work is to help people connect with the dead on the other side to feel loved in this life.

Perdita began researching ancient history and traditions of motherhood. She discovered that there's never a single mother because mothering was a shared action in ancient communities with at least 9 mothers per child. We chat about the original Divine Trinity in ancient cultures: the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone. In her book, Perdita writes about the fact that the egg of the Daughter (Mother) and Granddaughter (Maiden) are formed simultaneously in the body of our Grandmother (Crone) like nesting dolls. It is our actual reality of our coming into being. These 3 generations are one and matriarchal cultures honored this powerful fact!

We dive into her book: Mothers of Magic: Summoning the Wisdom of Our Ancestors and her personal story with her own Mother and  Grandmothers and the story of the Mother before civilization, within civilization and to a world that may look very different beyond it. If we recovered the circular power and wisdom of the mother; we would transform our relationship with life, nature, each other and ourselves. Perdita ends our episode with a practical visualization to call upon 9 animal Mothers to change your life and to awaken the magic inside you. Tune into this fascinating conversation and be enlightened!

The Oracle of Luna with Bridget Engels presents: Goddess Vila - Summer /June Waxing to Full Moon - Guided Meditation.

Summer Solstice blessings!   I invite you to take a guided meditation journey with me to connect with the ancient Slavic Goddess Vila. This guided meditation and more are available in my three books and audio books, titled The Oracle of Luna: Meditations with the Moon Goddess, volumes one, two, and three, available on Amazon and Audible.
Goddess Vila, also known as Samo Vila, is an ancient Eastern European name for the Goddess of energy moving through the Earth as nature. The plural form Vily are known as female spirits who live in the woods, mountains, caves, rivers, and clouds that can shape shift into any animal they want.
Vila was often described as a fair-skinned winged woman with glistening translucent garments. Villa can shape shift into whirlwinds, avalanches, glaciers, or any force of nature.
The magical Vily are unlike European fairies, since they were not born as spirits of nature, but became them with death. Both Goddess Vila and the Vily are able to magically blend in with the wind as intangible shapes, or they can become solid by the natural world around them.
We can connect with Goddess Vila and the Vily when we are navigating change, when we are between life cycles, or when we just want to grow and expand into our best selves and nourish wholeness. Tune in and be enlightened!

Explore Thelema with Maevius Lynn! Maevius is a writer, artist, international lecturer, and ceremonial magician whose work approaches Thelema as a living tradition from the perspective of both a solitary practitioner and an initiate of Ordo Templi Orientis and Temple of the Silver Star. Her efforts inspire others to make Thelema and magick a purposeful part of their lives. Her new book is: The Holy Year of Thelema - A Guide to the Ritual Calendar of Aleister Crowley’s Tradition by Llewellyn Worldwide. Her work includes YouTube educational videos, online study groups, workshops, and lectures at Pagan and occult conferences, books, magazine articles, and art.
She also shares early beginnings in Florida as a young Queer person seeking knowledge and what led her to Thelema and what Thelema is as it looks like in our modern age. We delve into what Thelema is a philosophy, a religion and a system of mysticism. Maevius tells us about some misconceptions around Thelemic practice, tradition,(It is not Kemeticism) and also briefly unpacks the life and beliefs and the complicated and controversial side of Aleister Crowley.
We jump to the topic of Will in Thelema for its practitioners and the meaning of the phrase: Do What That Wilt Shall be the Whole of the Law as the primary philosophy from sacred text.  Understanding the innermost divinity within oneself , then aligning with it and to discover the skills to live that truth. And how the sacred holy text The Book of the Law was divinely channelled to Crowley while he was in Egypt. Maevius points out that Thelema’s holy books are not dogma to conform your life to. They are instead an invitation to explore yourself, the nature of the Divine and what that means to you.
Maevius’ new book is: The Holy Year of Thelema - A Guide to the Ritual Calendar of Aleister Crowley’s Tradition which is an exploration into the context/history of Thelema and the holy days found in this tradition. She offers insight, practical advice for those looking to start a mystical journey of their own and some ideas to practice and build your own tradition with Thelema based on your level and your available time. One of Maevius’ favorite basic rituals in Thelema is “Saying Will” which reminds Thelemites that eating should nourish the body in order to fulfill the Great Work and transmute the consumed calories into spiritual substance.
We also discuss the Women who helped bring Thelema who have shaped and influenced the history and development of Thelema and what Maevius' perspective as a woman in this tradition. In Thelema, the Goddess Nuit is the representation of infinite possibilities and the cosmos. Her masculine complement, Hadit, is the single point at the center of every thing and she unites with Hadit. In the Gnostic Mass the priestess does an invocation to Nuit. There are Holy Days in Thelema to celebrate that someone can explore and build their own traditions based on the seasons and the seasons of one’s life. Maevius encourages us to try out the magic of Thelema in a way that is inviting, and informative.
Maeviius ends this episode with a deacon speech from the Gnostic Mass.

The Oracle of Luna with Bridget Engels presents: Deborah Blake: Modern Witchcraft Author - Witch - High Priestess

Connect with Deity with Deborah Blake! Deborah is the prolific author of nineteen books on modern Witchcraft, including The Eclectic Witch’s Book of Shadows, A Year and a Day of Everyday Magic, and as well as the acclaimed Everyday Witch Tarot and Oracle and Everyday Witch’s Familiars Oracle decks and her latest book: The Everyday Witch’s Book of Deities - Ancient Gods for Modern Pagans, by LLewellyn Worldwide.. She has also written three paranormal romance and urban fantasy series, and as well as a cozy mystery series. Deborah lives in a 130 year old farmhouse in upstate New York with numerous cats who supervise all her activities, both magical and mundane.
We jump into what Deity means since it doesn't mean the same thing to everybody. The way we look at deity in Witchcraft is two different ways at the same time which can be a little confusing.First we connect with Individual Gods/Goddess  that have traits associated with them for a very long time (centuries) that we can connect with and the second way is the big overarching power of the Divine that is so far outside of how our brains can comprehend.

There are also many reasons why Witches call on or connect with Gods/Goddess as as there are types of Witches! Communing, Spells, Rituals or simply talking to deity or having symbol /statue or representation of a God/Goddess(s) on their altar can be a few ways that we can connect or invite in the energy of that Deity or just say “God and Goddess” and don't specify in a spell, ritual, communing, magical workings,etc..

How do we know which Deity to connect with or choose? This is a popular question that Deborah gets from her community. Deborah explains that sometimes its a lack of a trait inside us that we need help with that a certain God/Goddess has plenty of that trait or attributes of such as healing, magic, Moon energy, abundance, fertility, warrior energy, etc etc.or a particular need or goal we are working on or sometimes deity comes to us and we should be open to seeing/hearing signs and messages. We can also change our Deity devotion or worship with time since life is fluid and we grow and evolve with time to become our best self.

We chat about the many ways that Witches work with Deities and what this entails. It can be in Sabbats in the Wheel of the Year that are associated with a God or Goddess such as Brigid at Imbolc, Hekate at Samhain, Demeter or Lugh at Lammas, etc. Or we can call on a Moon Goddess such as Diana, Selene, Luna, during a New, Full or Dark Moon. And we don't call on deity the same way every single time; it depends on what you need or want. Deborah mentions she has a daily practice of greeting a God/Goddess in the morning and saying a gratitude greeting thanking God/Goddess in the evening .Many Witches have offerings to Deity(s) n ritual or their personal or group practice. Simply knowing that they are there with us and we are not dealing with everything all on our own is reassuring especially in difficult times.
Deborah was inspired to write her newest book: : The Everyday Witch’s Book of Deities - Ancient Gods for Modern Pagans, by her readers that came to her with questions about Gods/Goddesses and how to work with them. As a dedicated High Priestess she felt she was called on to write this book on Deity as a helpful thing to share with her community. She was also seeing that there were not that many books out there on both Gods and Goddesses. This is a great guidebook that explains the Deities in the ancient culture they lived in as well as how the modern Witch can connect with Gods/Goddesses in the here and now. Deborah also included contributing authors who are Witches, Druids, Pagans and Heathens who are practicing in the real world today.
Deborah ends our episode with a beautiful Full Moon invocation to Diana - Roman Goddess of the Hunt and the Divine Feminine to tap into our wild nature for power and magic. Tune in and be enlightened! More about Deborah at: www.deborahblakeauthor.com

The Oracle of Luna with Bridget Engels presents: Máire Durkan: Friggswoman, Heathen Minister, Author, & Green Witch

NEW🌙🦋💐Tune in with the extraordinary Máire Durkan as we uncover the power & magick of  Frigg and her sovereign council of 12 allied goddesses!🌙✨
Máire Durkan is an interfaith hospital chaplain, certified birth doula, ordained inclusive Heathen minister, Green Witch, and dedicated Friggswoman (devotee of the goddess Frigg). She serves as Clergy Coordinator for The Troth, one of the oldest international inclusive Heathen organizations. She specializes in creating and leading inclusive rituals and workshops rooted in intersectional feminist spirituality. Her latest book, Frigg’s Twelvefold Flame: Creating Justice and Healing with the Goddess and Her Court (Llewellyn Worldwide, 2026), explores how connecting with Frigg and her council of allied goddesses can support personal growth, justice and healing.
Máire’s early beginnings took place in the countryside of Wilmington, Delaware with older siblings and spending a lot of time in the woods immersed in Nature and reading books by JRR Tolkien and others. Later in life, a Heathen ritual or Blot at the Free Spirit Gathering in Maryland, to the Norse God Týr made a powerful impression on Máire. She describes the Galdr or chanting was about victory through sacrifice to the rune of Tiwaz which is about justice, leadership, honor  and sacrifice. Máire was changed by this spiritual experience. She was also writing about Norse Goddesses Frigg, Freya and God Odin at the time too. The Divine Feminine was very important to Máire and she was drawn to Frigg the All Mother and wife to Odin who resonated with her.
Máire began incorporating Frigg’s symbols of the Heron, Spinning Wheel, and Spindle to connect with Frigg’s energy with her Heathen community: The Assembly of the Sacred Wheel, they do Aspecting as part of their rituals.. She started feeling at home with her and really clicked with Frigg. The nurturing, caring, weaving of respectful harmony and uniting communities are all part of Frigg’s All Mother attributes.
Máire was inspired to write her book: Frigg’s Twelvefold Flame: Creating Justice and Healing with the Goddess and Her Court  because of the challenging times we live in and the urging of Frigg and her 12 allied Goddesses that she works with each carrying a different aspect of Frigg’s power and presence with shared leadership and collaborative sovereignty. . Neo-Pagans, Heathens, Wiccans and their communities embrace inclusivity and eco sustainability as part of their great work. Maire’s book became a call to activism since Goddess Frigg stands for action, justice, care, foresight and responsibility for others as well as the Divine Feminine spirit.
Maire tells us that Frigg encourages us to really examine whats beneath the surface and look at the root causes of injustice and oppression and then navigate the complexities with intention. We can lead with both care and strategy and look at the long game. Frigg reframes activism with sacred care work such as advocacy, community support for the under served, which matters as much as policy change.
Máire ends our episode with a short invocation to Frigg - Lady of the Keys - for a call to action for justice work and creating positive change in the world where all beings are valued and respected. Tune in and be enlightened!
