In the final episode of season one of The Perfect Collapse, I sit down with Psychiatrist Dr. K for the last conversation about the Lindsay Clancy case. We discuss the questions that extend far beyond the verdict: parasocial relationships, resentment of motherhood, Latarsha Sanders, Lindsay Clancy's case through a black woman’s perspective, as well as the potential for copycat murders.

Episode 17: The Perfect Collapse: The Verdict
The jury couldn't agree. Not on insanity, not on manslaughter, and not on murder in the first or second degree. After seven days and thirty-eight hours of deliberation, marked by accusations of a lying juror and a judge who refused to remove him, and an emergency appeal to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, Lindsay Clancy's trial ended in a mistrial, deadlocked 11 to 1.
This episode breaks down what the Commonwealth can do next and what happens to Lindsay while that decision gets made. We also cover the arrest of a Clancy supporter who breached a restricted courthouse parking lot to photograph jurors. Then, we step back seventy years to the case of Constance Fisher, a Maine woman whose 1954 and 1966 filicides demonstrate what a break from reality looks like, with none of the media machinery that has surrounded Lindsay Clancy's trial.
