The Produce Stand Podcast 🍁 A Letterkenny and Shoresy Aftershow

This week on The Produce Stand the gang recap and review Heated Rivalry Season 1, Episode 4: “Rose.” Joining Al, Tanya, Mat, and Victor is Manisha, host of the award-winning Archery Parent Podcast.

Shane and Ilya’s arrangement starts getting complicated when an overnight invitation, a tuna melt, and the use of first names threaten to turn their hookups into something more. The panel debates Shane’s panicked exit, Ilya’s vulnerability, and whether these two are protecting themselves or shutting each other out. Naturally, Mat has a theory involving tuna.

Meanwhile, Shane meets actress Rose Landry, and their budding public romance leaves Ilya watching from the sidelines. We discuss Rose’s introduction, the contrast between Shane’s public and private lives, and the jealousy-fuelled club sequence”

Plus, we tackle listener feedback and react to I Kill the Bear bloopers featuring Jared Keeso, Jonathan Torrens, and Georges St-Pierre.

The Produce Stand continues its coverage of Jacob Tierney’s Heated Rivalry with Season 1, Episode 2, “The Olympians.”

Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov’s secret relationship stretches across seasons, cities and plenty of increasingly flirtatious texts before the two finally reconnect. As their rivalry grows on the ice, their relationship begins to become something much more complicated off it.
Then the story moves to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, where the pressure on Ilya intensifies and Shane gets a firsthand look at just how different their worlds really are. From Ilya’s struggles with his family and the Russian media to Shane trying to understand exactly what the two of them mean to each other, “The Olympians” adds new layers to both characters and their relationship.
The TPS panel breaks down the episode, including the time-jumping opening montage, Shane and Ilya’s chemistry, the Sochi storyline, the changing dynamic between them and that heartbreaking final message.

This week on The Produce Stand, we cap off our summer-long Don Cherry retrospective with the man who helped bring his story to the screen: Tim Cherry, award-winning writer, producer and son of Don Cherry.

Tim takes us behind the scenes of Keep Your Head Up, Kid: The Don Cherry Story and The Wrath of Grapes, revealing how the films came together . He shares memories of growing up around the Boston Bruins, his father's coaching career and the real stories that inspired some of our favourite scenes.
Tim tells the incredible story of how the Cherry family immediately knew Jared was their Don, while CBC initially resisted casting the relatively unknown actor.
We also talk Coach's Corner, Ron MacLean, Ralph Mellanby, Sarah Manninen's remarkable performance as Rose, Don's departure from television, and why Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Hockey never made it into the movies.
It's the perfect epilogue to our summer with Grapes.

00:40:17 – Don Cherry’s Hockey, Family and Broadcasting Legacy
