In August 2018, 21-year-old Matthew Weaver Jr. drove into California’s Santa Monica Mountains and seemingly vanished. Hours after sending unsettling messages to a friend, Matthew stopped responding. Later that night, witnesses reported hearing screams for help, and his silver BMW was discovered abandoned near Rosas Overlook.
Years later, Matthew remains missing. Strange phone activity, evidence found months afterward, questions surrounding the initial search, and other troubling events in the same mountains have left his family searching for answers.
