Monty's Fate, Khalil's Secret & Eddie's Corner-Cutting at Meadow Farm | Archers Week in Review
18/08/2026 | 15 mins.Philippa and Katie are back together for the week in Ambridge — Sunday 16th to Tuesday 18th August — and there is a lot to process.
Monty's story moves to a heartbreaking conclusion as Lynda and Robert say goodbye and sign the documents. Katie cannot cope and Philippa has questions about the rehoming process, the DNA fingerprints, and whether there is more to come from that evidence. Meanwhile Harrison and Fallon's relationship continues to unsettle, a possibly flirty exchange between Harrison and Lily gets noted, and Mick is becoming CSI Ambridge.
Khalil is struggling and Keira has been quietly keeping his secret — until Susan unknowingly spills the beans. Now Azra knows, and neither host is convinced she is going to handle it well. There are real concerns about Khalil bottling things up, particularly given his history.
Eddie is filling in for George at Meadow Farm and is cutting every corner available to him. George, remarkably, was right. Ruth still has not booked the genetic test and both hosts are furious about it. The Cruck Barn is taking shape with an exciting programme of rural crafts, jewellery making and creative writing — but can Ambridge actually afford it? And nobody has acknowledged the heatwave or drought even once, which is bothering everyone.
Plus Lynda's DNA fingerprints, Rosie and Pip moving into the bungalow, who is now paying rent on Rickyard Cottage, and a key that would not work properly.
Star of the Week, Twitter of the Week and predictions including Lynda being unmasked as a mafia gang leader.
Topics covered: Monty | Lynda Snell | Robert Snell | Khalil | Keira | Azra | Eddie Grundy | George Grundy | Ruth Archer | Harrison Burns | Fallon Rogers | Lily Pargetter | Cruck Barn | Elizabeth Pargetter | Susan Carter | The Archers August 2026

12/08/2026 | 17 mins.We are back from our summer break — Philippa is solo, as Katie and Quentin are watching the eclipse — and it has been quite a week to return to.
The village fete on Sunday was a genuine highlight: Chelsea without scissors, Lillian as an unlikely fairy godmother, Fabrice to the rescue, Carol's chaotic scavenger hunt and the great entry fee debacle. Philippa loved it. Then Monday arrived.
Monty has been taken into police custody following the attack on David and Ruth's sheep, and Philippa found it genuinely traumatic to listen to. Harrison handling the arrest with calm professionalism while Robert and Lynda fell apart. Lynda trying to gather character references. Robert and the gate he didn't fix in time. The bed and breakfast guests who left a day early and whose children apparently hosed down a bloodied dog without telling anyone. The question of whether admitting liability was the right call without legal advice. And the looming question of whether David and Ruth will ever agree to let Monty live.
Also this week: Elizabeth being dismissive of Freddie, Alistair's advice to Harrison, Lillian's solution to everything being brandy, a possible Lily and Amber friendship, and Philippa's theory about why Monty has been behaving so strangely.
Plus Star of the Week, Twit of the Week and three predictions including a sheep-shearing barber shop.
Back to normal next Tuesday.
Topics covered: Monty | Lynda Snell | Robert Snell | Harrison Burns | David Archer | Ruth Archer | Elizabeth Pargetter | Lillian Bellamy | Chelsea | Alan Franks | Carol | Amber | Keira | The Archers August 2026

21/07/2026 | 15 mins.Philippa and Katie cover the week in Ambridge so far - Sunday 19th to Tuesday 21st July - and the theme of the week is spectacularly clear: nobody in Ambridge is talking to anybody properly.
Rex is moving in with Alice without any discussion about money, children, or who is going to cook. Chris finds out via Fallon rather than Alice. Harrison and Fallon are barely communicating and the awards ceremony could be the moment everything falls apart. Fallon hasn't told Jolene she wants to leave the Bull. And nobody has told Martha she might be going to Gozo.
Elizabeth returns and there is apparently an event space being renovated at Lower Loxley — which came as news to us. Alan reappears. Bert has his first shift at the village shop and is surprisingly good value. And people are charging five pounds to get into the Ambridge fete.
Plus: thoughts on the Barn event space and what it means for Brookfield, Carol and Alan's very odd moment, whether Bert is the new Jim, and a plea for absolutely nothing to happen during the two week summer break.
Back on Wednesday 13th August.
Topics covered: Rex Fairbrother | Alice Carter | Chris Carter | Harrison Burns | Fallon Rogers | Elizabeth Pargetter | Bert Horrobin | Susan Carter | Alan Franks | The Archers July 2026

17/07/2026 | 12 mins.Philippa is back with Lucy Speed, who plays Stella Pryor in The Archers, for part two — and this time the Facebook group gets their say.
Lucy answers questions on everything from whether Stella would save Rosie or Cleo in a disaster (the answer is very clear), to whether a prenup would make life easier for everyone at Brookfield. She talks about not knowing Stella and Pip would get together when she first joined, what Stella's wedding outfit might look like, and whether the baby question could derail the wedding entirely.
Also: Thor the miniature dachshund makes his podcast debut, Lucy reveals she played thirteen different characters in Radio 4's Don Quixote, why she has loved radio since childhood, and who Stella would choose as her Race Across the World partner — with a strong case made for Rex.
Part one of this interview is available now if you missed it.

14/07/2026 | 16 mins.Philippa, Katie and Quentin are back — and a very special welcome to Katie, now Mrs Newby, fresh from her wedding.
The team also pay tribute to Patricia Greene, who played Jill Archer, a true legend of The Archers who will be greatly missed.
This week: Tom finds out about Kirsty's pregnancy and manages to make it entirely about himself — Kirsty gives him both barrels and sends him packing. Anne-Marie turns up at the theatre and immediately accuses Susan of something outrageous. Harrison arrives home early and surprises Fallon, but the communication problems between them remain deeply concerning. Helen fails to get her milking parlour and is sickeningly gracious about it. A £35k payment lands in various bank accounts — and Ian promises he will let it go. Nobody believes him.
Plus: Kirsty and Amber's lovely moment over the baby's first kick, what musical George and Amber saw at the theatre, Katie's Gardeners' World discovery, the Archers garden at Badminton Flower Show, and is Bert volunteering at the shop on Clive's instructions?
Star of the Week, Twitter of the Week, predictions, and a reminder that the summer break starts after next week — back on Wednesday 12th August.
Topics covered: Tom Archer | Kirsty Miller | Anne-Marie | Susan Carter | Harrison Burns | Fallon Rogers | Ian Craig | Adam Macy | Helen Archer | Rex Fairbrother | Bert Horrobin | Borchester Show | Patricia Greene | The Archers July 2026
