Mis-Teeq "Lickin' on Both Sides" turns 25, and Chris and Chantel give the debut a full track-by-track honest review, from the singles you know by heart to the deep cuts. This is the album that fused R&B and UK garage into pop and proved a British girl group could sound like no one else.
We go song by song through the standard album, rating production, vocals, visuals, and performances, and finishing with a Cut or Keep. Along the way we untangle why nearly every single exists in three different versions, and dig into the stories behind them: "One Night Stand" as Stargate's first big break years before Rihanna and Beyoncé, the Sunship garage smash "All I Want," the So Solid Crew link on "They'll Never Know," and "Why?", the only Mis-Teeq song featuring original fourth member Zena McNally, who returned to the stage for the group's reunion.
Speaking of which, we get into the 25th anniversary Wembley show and the drama that followed once the reunion fell apart. Alesha Dixon, Sabrina Washington, and Su-Elise Nash made a real UK garage classic. Does it still hold up 25 years on?

Melanie C (aka Sporty Spice) sits down with CCTV: The Nonstop Pop Show backstage at Webster Hall in New York City, a few shows into her Sweat tour, for an honest, music-first interview about her journey from the Spice Girls to her ninth solo album, “Sweat”. Two lifelong superfans take her from co-writing the Spice Girls catalogue, through the highs and hard times of going solo, to the joy and reinvention of the “Sweat” era.
Melanie C opens up about learning to write songs inside the Spice Girls, finding her identity outside Sporty Spice on “Northern Star”, revisiting “Forever”, going fully independent after leaving Virgin for “Beautiful Intentions”, falling in love with dance music and DJing, and why “Sweat” feels like the sweet spot of her whole career. Plus, we hand her our cheeky business-card question (is "Wannabe" one of the Spice Girls' worst songs?) and she defends it herself before naming the Spice and solo deep cuts fans have slept on.
