  • TV Show Reviews: Poldark and Andor
Going off about two shows that transported me to very different worlds, but with similar messages. Poldark (on PBS, BBC, Netflix, Apple, and more) is a historical drama about a man returning home from war to find his home, legacy, and love all lost to him. A love triangle serves as the core of the show, as decisions made by each person follow them throughout their lives. War, famine, and struggle presented in England after the American Revolutionary war serve as the backdrop for loveable, and infuriating, characters and plotlines. Then, I finally dig into why I loved Andor and reasons why you might too. Each show is discussed carefully to avoid major spoilers and twists. Movies recommended during the pod are: Rogue One, The Bridge on the River Kwai, Dolores Claiborne, Michael Clayton, and The Cutting EdgeTimestamp: Poldark is the first 30min, Andor is the last 30min.All opinions are personal and not representative of any outside company, person, or agenda. • Recap: RHOSLC S6E7 Above Deck and Below the Belt - Part 2
The last half of the ladies' first day on the Below Deck yacht culminates in a dinner showdown where Heather confronts Lisa about being the source of every piece of dirt on the women. With everyone but Meredith fully convinced Lisa has been digging up issues from their past and leaking them to blogs and media sources, Lisa is incensed and devastated. As the crew works to maintain service and order throughout the fiasco, the women are oblivious to their efforts. Seasick Angie and her supportive sister, Mary, miss the entire ordeal as they eat from their room, hearing only muffled screaming all evening. By the end, Heather tells Lisa she should leave the boat and Lisa retreats to the loading dock as she works on an escape plan with John. • Recap: RHOSLC S6E7, Above Deck and Below the Belt - Part 1
The Below Deck x Real Housewives of Salt Lake City collab is finally upon us! This episode begins with the ladies reacting to salacious rumors and nastiness about Bronwyn as they prepare for their long journey to the Caribbean. Bronwyn's delayed arrival makes for a tense atmosphere and entrance, despite hostess Heather's efforts to make her feel welcome. Amidst shameless flirting with Captain Jason and the deck crew, and avoiding a sleep paralysis stuffed unicorn with the voice of a geriatric F boy, the women listen as Bronwyn addresses her alleged crimes. She also shifts focus to the affront of someone in the group perhaps being responsible for digging them up and Lisa's boasts about lawyers on retainer and collecting info come back to bite her as the ladies recoil from the thought of one of them working to take a fellow cast member down. Through it all, hilarity ensues with Meredith throwing water on Brittani whenever she mentions her ex, Angie getting sea sick, and Heather getting sauced and loose lipped. BONUS - Reviewing the alleged details from Reddit as well as social media posts from what appears to be the initial source of the rumor All opinions are personal and not representative of any outside company, person, or agenda. • Recap: RHOSLC S6E6, Out Of Gas - Part 2
The two part coverage of a jam-packed episode picks up with Britani meeting with her adult daughter, Olivia, to address her past choices to prioritize men over her relationship with her daughters. After that frustrating and emotional scene, we check in with Meredith and Heather as they debate whether or not to believe Lisa would dig up dirt on people who consider her a friend. Then, Whitney works to ensure that Angie and Mary fill out their yacht charter preference sheets which leads to gossip about legal issues concerning Bronwyn. Yet, as a scene with Bronwyn and Todd soon reveals, the case has been sealed and they won't be addressing it, leaving Bravo fans to speculate and wonder. The episode ends with Tater Todd in full grump mode, advising Bronwyn to not attend the Below Deck yacht trip and to that we say, stay out of women's business. BONUS: a look into the SLC social club featured and Lisa commenting a legal warning to an online creator All opinions are personal and not representative of any outside company, person, or agenda. • Recap: RHOSLC S6E6, Out Of Gas - Part 1
Another episode that will ring throughout the ages of any Real Housewives franchise, this one tooted its way over the line into a two-parter. After an interaction between Bronwyn and her disrespectful, stale, Tater Todd that left me with an angry eye twitch, we learn about issues Lisa has with John. Then, when besties Mary and Angie sit down to address their rift over the Black card blowup at the vineyard, this episode gurgles into the stratosphere of legendary fights with a fart filled fiesta of a feud. I laughed, I raged, and once again I thanked the Bravo universe for the gift that is Salt Lake City. All opinions are personal and not representative of any outside company, person, or agenda.
