The Real Jimmy Hollywood (2017 Classic Interview)
Hollywood and Beyond with Steven Brittingham Podcast
Created, Produced, Edited and Hosted by Steven Brittingham
Welcome Greetings by Burt Ward and Carrie Mitchum
The next classic episode from the early days of the podcast has arrived! The Real Jimmy Hollywood visited the podcast back in 2017. This is a truly fun, interesting and engaging conversation.
Featuring a new recording from me, this episode has lots of heartfelt moments, including a moment where Jimmy learns that a Hollywood legend had just passed away, and shares it with me during the interview.
Here is the description I wrote back in 2017 for the interview, which originally aired on an online radio network, recorded with equipment I no longer use today, and has not been available for a few years now:
Early this afternoon I had an amazing interview experience with Jimmy Hollywood. Trust me when I say this is one not to be missed. Jimmy is someone who has offered me a lot of encouragement and has inspired me as host of Hollywood and Beyond with Steven Brittingham.
What did my full hour interview with Jimmy result in?? His early days in broadcasting and why he still considers himself a Midwesterner by heart. His involvement with releasing the smash hit song "96 Tears" and the reasons behind why Elvis threw a Big Mac over his head.
His thoughts on what it really takes to make it in Hollywood are not to be missed. Jimmy even gets emotional when I bring up his friend Roy Orbison, in a not to be missed response. You will also find out why Jimmy wants to take me to Wendy's. Thank you goes out to Jimmy tonight. I haven't been able to stop thinking about our talk all day long!

Catherine Mary Stewart - The Last Starfighter (40th Anniversary)
The Last Starfighter 40th Anniversary Celebration on Hollywood and Beyond with Steven Brittingham Podcast!
Catherine Mary Stewart -
The Last Starfighter
(40th Anniversary)
Excited to announce that Catherine Mary Stewart visited the podcast to discuss in full detail the making of The Last Starfighter. This lady left her mark in the eighties with lead roles in the cult classic “Night of the Comet”, the teen comedy “Mischief”, and as the female lead in “A Weekend at Bernie’s”.
Catherine will be sharing her memories of appearing in “The Last Starfighter”. All resulting in a sentimental look back at working with co-star Lance Guest, Robert Preston, Dan O'Herlihy and working with director Nick Castle. All of this and so much more!
This beloved film tells the story of high schooler Alex Rogan (Lance Guest), who after conquering The Last Starfighter video game, suddenly finds himself transported to another planet. Where he is recruited to join a team of the best starfighters to defend their world from attack.
As Alex’s love interest, my guest finds herself caught up in the thrilling action and the emotional heartfelt storyline.

Welcome Greeting by Burt Ward and Carrie Mitchum
Selected audio clips appear courtesy of Dennis Mallen
On the one-year anniversary of his fatal car accident, I will be honoring past guest actor Dennis Mallen with a special rerelease of his episode from his 2022 visit to the podcast. There will be a new opening segment on the episode featuring me. And three tribute recordings from those who knew and worked with Dennis. Thank you goes out to actress Alexis Baca, actor Patrick Arminas, and actor Darren Anselmo.
Episode Description:
I am deeply saddened to learn that past guest and actor Dennis Mallen passed away last June after suffering injuries from a car accident in Florida.
During an enlightening and informative interview just one year before his accident, Dennis shared his personal and artistic journey. Born in Newark, NJ - my guest left a profitable career in technology to seek out a commitment to acting.
A self-described method actor, Dennis touched so many in his career and he was always willing to share the lessons he learned along the way.
Our conversation was so delightful and interesting, fun and inspirational.
This special tribute for Dennis will be available on the one-year anniversary of his passing on Tuesday, June 11.
My association with Dennis was brief, yet it feels like we had hundreds of hours' worth of conversations together. Thank you for your kindness, Dennis. I can sincerely say you brightened up my world. And I will miss you.

Rachel G. Whittle - Protocol 7
Welcome Greeting by Burt Ward and Carrie Mitchum
Actress and aspiring filmmaker Rachel G. Whittle visits the podcast while on the road to a screening in Texas for “Protocol 7”. Based on true events, Rachel shares why her leading role has impacted her to this day, the backstory of her audition, and working with Oscar winner Eric Roberts.
Thank you goes out to actress Rachel G. Whittle for a wonderful conversation experience about her leading role in “Protocol-7”. Based on true events, a small-town mother teams up with a doctor exiled from the medical profession and a virologist turned corporate whistleblower, as they work together to hold a pharmaceutical corporation accountable for what they say are fraudulent test results for a failed mumps vaccine.
Rachel has already expressed an interest in returning to the podcast later this year to discuss an upcoming project. I can’t wait!

Brett Newton - An Actor's Journey: LA to Atlanta
Brett Newton -
An Actor’s Journey:
LA to Atlanta
Welcome Greeting by Burt Ward and Carrie Mitchum
A big thank you goes out to actor, director and writer Brett Newton for visiting me on the podcast earlier this afternoon. In a truly engaging conversation, Brett shares what the audition process is like for Atlanta based actors, while providing valuable tips for video auditions. Plus, what he learned from his time in LA and so much more!
Find out why a scene as an unsympathetic paramedic on “Glow” (Netflix) that provided him with an opportunity to say snappy dialogue in the script to another character, would instead cause upcoming guest Brett Newton a great deal of personal misery both on the set and long afterwards. It would though provide Brett with a valuable lesson that he now firmly maintains today.
Atlanta based actor Brett Newton is my guest! Brett shares his artistic journey and the lessons learned along the way. Including suggestions on how to prepare for video home auditioning.
