#389: Whatās in a Name? - The Names of God ā Part 1
John 1:42, Genesis 2:7 & 19-20
Today we begin a brand-new series called The Names of God! Before we dive into Godās special names, weāre first asking: Whatās in a name? Why do names matter? Weāll discover how names show relationship, how God sometimes changes names in the Bible, and how names show meaning.
This episode sets the stage for the rest of our series by helping kids understand that names arenāt just labels ā they tell us about identity, relationship, and character.

#388: You meant evil against me, butĀ God meant it for good,
Genesis 37-50, Romans 12:9,Ā Isaiah 5:20m Proverbs 2:14-15, Proverbs 8:13, Matthew 5:44, Ephesians 6:10-12, 2 Corinthians 4:7ā9,Ā John 16:33
In todayās special episode, we talk about evil in our world but keep details age-appropriate and I point them to what Godās Word says about it.
My children have been asking really good questions about this due to events and I thought we should address it. Using the story of Joseph, the cross of Jesus, and even a recent story, we discover four big truths:
God can use what was meant for evil for good.
We must hate what is evil and cling to what is good.
We are called to love our enemies and fight with prayer, truth, and love.
We have real hope because of Jesus.
This episode may feel a little different than our usual storytelling, but I believe it will help children think biblically when they have questions about hard things.
My hope is that todayās episode gives you a strong starting place and sparks meaningful conversations with your children.

#387: Full of Light - What a Good Eye Sees
Matthew 6:19ā24, Proverbs 22:9, 1 Timothy 6:17ā18
In this episode, we hear Jesusā words about treasure and our eyeā¦..huh? At first, it can sound confusing ā what do our eyes have to do with treasure? But Jesus is teaching us how to see clearly: to treasure God above money and things.
Kids will understand:
Money and things arenāt bad ā they can be tools to help others.
What matters most is how we see them and how we use them.
A āgood eyeā sees the truth: God is more beautiful and precious than anything money can buy.

#386: Not Power, But Your Name in Heaven
Luke 10:1ā4, 17ā20
In this weekās episode Jesus sends out 72 followers to share the good news. When they return, they are amazed ā even the demons obeyed in Jesusā name! But Jesus teaches them something even greater: āDo not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.ā
Jesus sent out 72 workers to prepare the way and tell people that Godās kingdom had come.
The disciples were amazed by the power they saw, like superheroes in real life.
Jesus reminded them that the greatest joy isnāt power ā itās knowing that our names are written in heaven.
If you believe in Jesus, you belong to Him forever. Thatās better than any superpower.

#385: Moldy Bread or the Bread of Life
John 6:25ā35
In todayās episode we hear Jesus tell the crowd, āI am the Bread of Life.ā First, we remember how God fed His people with manna in the wilderness. Then, we hear the crowd ask Jesus for a sign, and He explains that He is the true bread from heaven ā the one who can fill our hearts forever.Ā
Kids will understand what the word eternal means and we will talk about yummy foods like pizza, ice cream, and lollipops ā and how they donāt last forever, but Jesus does. He alone is the one who gives us joy and eternal life.
š Parents, todayās takeaway: God is a good Father who gives us wonderful gifts to enjoy, but our hearts are made to love Him most.
