Mia DΓΆring is the author of Any Girl: a Memoir of Surviving Prostitution in Ireland, a 2022 best seller. Miaβs fiction, essays and articles have been published in the Sunday Miscellany Anthology, Ropes Literary Journal, Litro Magazine, The Bohemyth, The Irish Independent, The Sunday Independent, Irish Country Magazine and more.Β She is a 2024 Irish Writers Centre Novel Fair winner with her novelΒ baby, girl.Β She is working on her second novel. When sheβs not writing, Mia has a smallΒ psychotherapy practiceΒ and appears in documentaries, podcasts and radio on issues around violence against women and sexual trauma, as well as speaking in colleges, schools and at conferences. She has given a TED talk on her experience. In a letter to Mia, Irish President Michael D. Higgens wrote, βyour message is one of radical truth.βShe holds an BA in Fine Art from NCAD, an MA in broadcast journalism, a diploma in Psychology and a BA in Integrative Psychotherapy.
