What Do You Do When the Wine Runs Out in Your Marriage? | October 04, 2026 Homily
05/10/2026 | 11 mins.In this homily, Fr. Ian asks us to look honestly at the state of our marriages, and reminds us that when something has become bitter, broken, or empty, Jesus doesn’t simply walk away. He enters the vineyard.- How do we respond to suffering?
Jesus doesn’t promise a life without suffering. He shows us how to carry our crosses, with patience, grace, prayer, and trust in God.
We can avoid our crosses, become angry with God, or choose to embrace them and follow Christ. Through the cross comes resurrection and glory. - In this homily, we reflect on the persistent faith of the Canaanite woman in the Gospel and what her story teaches us about prayer, waiting, and trusting God’s timing.
Like the Canaanite woman, we are called to keep praying, keep trusting, and remain open to God’s plan. And when He works a miracle in our lives, it is never just for us, it becomes a witness of faith for others.
