    TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:
    Colossians 3:12
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, (ESV)
    SUMMARY
We slow down with Colossians 3:12 and focus on two traits that feel upside down in modern life: humility and meekness. We look at Jesus in Philippians 2 and ask God to show us where we need to grow so our lives reflect Him more than the spotlight.
    • reading Colossians 3:12 as a call to put on Christlike character
    • linking humility and meekness to our identity as chosen, holy, and beloved
    • seeing Jesus’s incarnation as the clearest picture of humility
    • defining meekness as refusing self-promotion and following the Father’s plan
    • noticing how culture rewards pride and brash attention seeking
    • praying for God to stretch us toward humility and meekness
As you lay down tonight, ponder these characteristics, humility and meekness, and ask God to reveal to you where you need to be stretched and where you need to grow when it comes to these two characteristics.

    Colossians 3:12
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, (ESV)
    SUMMARY
We slow down with Colossians 3:12 and let God’s words name us as chosen, holy, and beloved. We explore kindness as more than politeness and ask the Holy Spirit to produce real compassion in us as we rest.
    • reading Colossians 3:12 as an evening mindset meditation
    • identity first, living like who we are
    • kindness versus niceness, polite behavior versus genuine care
    • Jesus as the model of lived kindness and love
    • relying on the Holy Spirit for spiritual growth and daily opportunities to show kindness
    • closing prayer for awareness, patience, and compassion

    TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:
    Colossians 3:12
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, (ESV)
    SUMMARY
We slow down with Colossians 3:12 and let identity lead behavior as we prepare our minds for rest. We admit how hard compassion can be and choose love over criticism as a way to live like people who are holy and beloved.
    • grounding our evening mindset in Colossians 3:12
    • unpacking what it means to be chosen, holy, and beloved
    • confronting a get it done posture that resists compassion
    • noticing hidden pain and real obstacles in other people’s lives
    • swapping criticism for encouragement, support, and practical help
Ponder this exhortation to put on compassion as you prepare yourself for an evening of rest.

    TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:
    Philippians 4:9
What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. (ESV)
    SUMMARY
We read Philippians 4:9 and sit with Paul’s clear command to practice what we have learned, received, heard, and seen in faithful Christian life. We connect obedience to a real promise of peace and end with questions to carry into tomorrow.
    • Paul’s bond with the Philippians through shared hardship and persecution
    • A picture of a loving Christian community shaped by mentorship
    • Practicing faith like lessons with deliberate repetition
    • Asking what we know but still do not do
    • Obedience as a pathway to the God of peace
    • A guilt-free nightly reflection that turns into a concrete next step

    TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:
    Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (ESV)
    SUMMARY
We use Philippians 4:8 as a clear filter for what we let into our thoughts as we get ready for sleep. We challenge mindless mental wandering and practice setting our attention on what is true, honorable, pure, and worthy of praise.
    • reading Philippians 4:8 and treating it as a direct instruction
    • choosing intentional thinking instead of drifting through anxious thoughts
    • rejecting salacious headlines and social media as nighttime inputs
    • testing entertainment against the call to purity
    • focusing on what is lovely and commendable to quiet fear and stress
    • praying for help to discipline the mind and receive God’s wisdom
