- Alexander Isak opened his account for the season and Victor Munoz scored on his home debut, but it wasn't enough to secure three points as Nottingham Forest went away with a well deserved draw.
TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by John Gallagher and Paul Natton to look back on the game and also discuss the much needed impending transfer of Bradley Barcola from PSG. - Liverpool kicked off the season with an unconvincing display at Newcastle that almost ended in a demoralising loss, before lively new boy Victor Munoz won a penalty that Dom Szoboszlai converted emphatically to salvage a point with the last kick of the game.
TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by Julian Richards and the Daily Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe to discuss and eventful game at St James’ Park which showed some of the good elements that we can expect to see under Iraola, as well as some of the glaring issues that will need addressing in the transfer market and on the training ground. - We’re back with a look ahead to the new season which kicks off this weekend. Not much in the way of exciting transfers to discuss, but that in itself is a talking point, as is the changing landscape of the ownership situation.
Chris Smith is joined by TLW Editor Dave Usher and Paul Natton, while James Skelly makes his long awaited pod debut. In addition, most of the other regulars check in with their predictions ahead of the new campaign. - Dan Thomas and John Gallagher are back with the third and final part of their look back at the reign of Gerard Houllier.
This episode begins with the runners-up finish of 2002, which continued the upward trajectory of Houllier's Reds following the treble success of the previous season. The future looked bright, despite GH suffering an almost fatal heart problem early in the campaign, but a disastrous transfer window in the summer of 2002 marked the beginning of a decline that Gerard was ultimately unable to reverse. Two years later, he was replaced by Rafa Benitez.
Dan and John cover all of this and more, while paying tribute to the legacy of a man who left an indelible mark on the history of our great club. - Part Two of the TLW Time Team's look back at the reign of Gerard Houllier focuses on the 2001 Treble.
Dan Thomas and John Gallagher are joined by Chris Smith for this extended deep dive into one of the most memorable seasons in club history.
