Richie Holland on new role with Galway United

    04/03/2026 | 38 mins.
ON THIS week's podcast, Kieran catches up with Bandon man Richie Holland about his new assistant manager role with Galway United.

Holland has linked up with fellow West Cork man John Caulfield for the League of Ireland Premier Division club.

When Caulfield was manager of Cork City (2014 to 2019), he handed Holland a coaching break in 2017.

Nine years on, the two join forces, this time with the Connacht club.

Also on the show, we look back at Cork’s heavy defeat to Derry (1-31 to 0-14) in National Football League Division 2.

John Cleary’s side are still in the promotion race but this could be a damaging result later in the campaign.

Ben O’Connor’s hurlers continued their Division 1A winning form in beating Kilkenny. They go into the clash with Limerick in good spirits.

Joe Carroll’s LGFA are one win from a Division 1 final too after victory over Waterford.

Cork v Meath review and Derry v Cork preview

    25/02/2026 | 30 mins.
ON THIS week's podcast, we reflect on a great day for the Cork footballers in overcoming Meath 1-23 to 1-21.

The result puts John Cleary’s side within touching distance of promotion to Division 1, a tier they haven’t been in since 2016.

It also confirmed Cork’s fourth victory in succession and has them on eight points on top of the table. Meath and Derry fall in behind on six while Louth sit on four in fourth spot.

The Rebels’ next game against Derry in Celtic Park (1pm) this Sunday is now a huge match. The Ulster side, like Cork, are on a winning streak. They have beaten their last three opponents.

We discuss Cork’s top two aspirations heading into the final three games.

The hurlers and LGFA team are hoping to keep their form going this weekend too against Kilkenny and Waterford respectively.

The camogie team lost to Antrim and are at the other end of the spectrum while we also talk about Jack Crowley’s super game as Ireland beat England in Twickenham.

Cork v Meath preview with Davy Rispin

    18/02/2026 | 40 mins.
ON THIS week's podcast, we are joined by We Are Meath podcast host Davy Rispin to preview the big top of the table clash in Division 2 in Pairc Ui Rinn this Sunday (2pm).

John Cleary’s Cork are after three league wins in a row for the first time in the top two divisions since 2014 after beating Offaly in Tullamore (3-15 to 0-19).

Meath are on a three game winning streak too after seeing off Derry, Cavan and Louth in recent weeks with midfielder Jack Flynn getting winning two-pointers in two of those matches.

The Royals are All-Ireland semi-finalists from 2025 so the county is on a high.

The feeling is whoever wins this game will put themselves in a great position for promotion.

Also on the show, we are joined by Tony Hughes from Access Credit Union to talk about his interest in pickleball.

Hughes represented Ireland at the 2025 European Pickleball Championships in Rome and is hoping it’s a sport that can catch on in West Cork.

Tom Savage on the state of Irish rugby

    11/02/2026 | 57 mins.
ON THIS week's podcast, we are joined by Three Red Kings’ Tom Savage after Ireland’s 36-14 defeat at the hands of France in Paris.

This wasn’t the greatest night for Andy Farrell’s side as they started their 6 Nations campaign with a loss.

Multiple questions came in the aftermath, mainly about where Irish rugby was going after such a damaging defeat.

Savage delves into this and the ongoing debate of who should play out-half, Sam Prendergast or Innishannon’s Jack Crowley.

Teams who are going well though are Cork’s inter-county GAA teams who are unbeaten across all codes in the National Leagues.

The hurlers made it three wins from three last weekend in beating Tipperary (0-29 to 0-22), while the footballers hope to replicate that record when they travel to Offaly this Sunday.

The LGFA side face Armagh and can go up to second with a win while the camogie team begin their season on Saturday when they make the trip to Waterford.

    04/02/2026 | 50 mins.
ON THIS week's podcast, Star Sport columnist and former Cork footballer John Hayes to talk about Cork’s opening two National Football League wins.

John Cleary’s side have seen off Cavan and Louth so far and sit top of Division 2.

This is the first time the Rebels have won their opening two games in the top two divisions since 2015, which is progress.
Cork were comfortable winners away in Drogheda as they defeated Louth 1-17 to 1-12.

Hayes gives his thoughts on how the league is going so far.
