Cork masters footballers in All-Ireland semi-final and Baltimore harness racing driver Eoin Murphy on representing Ireland

    19/08/2026 | 1h 12 mins.
ON THIS week’s podcast, we have a bumper episode with three guests with masters football and harness racing garnering our attention.

We are joined by a couple of the Cork masters football crew in manager Tony Leahy and player Flor Crowley.

Leahy, a St Finbarr’s man, was in charge of the Cork U21s winning the All-Ireland in 2007 so has big game experience.

There is plenty of West Cork involvement in the Cork football masters team that will face London in the All-Ireland semi-final this Saturday (2pm) in Annanough GAA club at Vicarstown in Laois.

The local players involved are St Oliver Plunkett’s man John Paul O’Driscoll, Bandon’s Conor Sugrue, Flor Crowley from O’Donovan Rossa, Flor O’Sullivan of Goleen and Urhan man Flor Harrington.

Galway and Antrim face off on the other side of the draw.

The Cork masters have called upon the likes of 2010 All-Ireland winners Pearse O’Neill, Nicholas Murphy and John Miskella in the last couple of years and the likes of Bernard Brogan, Alan Brogan and Stephen O’Neill have played in this over 40 grade.

Also on the show, we welcome on Baltimore harness racing driver Eoin Murphy, who represents Ireland at the European Apprentice Drivers Championship in Dundalk Stadium this Sunday.

Murphy is hoping to become the first-ever Irish driver to win the event.

This ten-race programme includes 12 drivers from 12 different countries, with Murphy rubbing shoulders with 2025 champion Lynus Lannoo from Belgium.

After great success in the past two years and locally at events like the Red John Memorial, the Baltimore man is looking to make an impact on the European stage.

We look back on the weekend’s action in the county football championships too as Clonakilty and Castlehaven drew in the pick of the games.

Ger McCarthy reflects on Cork’s All-Ireland camogie victory

    12/08/2026 | 28 mins.
ON THIS week’s podcast, we are joined by friend of the show Ger McCarthy after a great week for Cork camogie.

The Rebels beat Galway 2-14 to 0-19 with Saoirse McCarthy and Orlaith Cahalane getting the vital goals.

Their 31st All-Ireland title in their history, they also claimed a third triumph in four years and denied Galway the back to back.

This was achieved with a young team however. A side that had lost four of their first six games in 2026.

Credit to Ger Manley though who steered the ship towards a winning campaign.

Ger, who was at the game, chats about the significance of the win, key players such as Saoirse McCarthy, Millie Condon, Libby Coppinger and Ashling Thompson and what the ceiling is for this superb group of players.

CORK V GALWAY PREVIEW: RTÉ camogie analyst Elaine Aylward previews the All-Ireland senior camogie final

    05/08/2026 | 45 mins.
ON THIS week’s podcast, we welcome on Kilkenny camogie legend and RTÉ analyst Elaine Aylward to look ahead to this year’s All-Ireland senior final between Cork and Galway.

The decider takes place this Sunday (4.15pm) in Croke Park.

The Rebels are aiming to win a third title in four years but it’s a Galway team that stopped their three in a row charge in 2025 that stand in their way.

Ger Manley’s Rebels had a difficult start to the year but four All-Ireland series wins on the trot has brought confidence into the panel.

This is also the third time in succession where the final has been contested by the two counties. Indicating their dominance in camogie.

Aylward talks tactics, key players and narratives going into Sunday’s hotly anticipated decider.

Also on the show, we reflect on a weekend of hurling where Kilbrittain, Bandon, Argideen Rangers and Barryroe earned crucial victories.

In the Carbery junior A championship, two opening day shocks have thrown the competition wide open.

    29/07/2026 | 47 mins.
ON THIS week’s podcast, we chat to Cork minor LGFA manager Kieran O’Shea following the young Rebels’ ZuCar All-Ireland U18A victory.

They saw off Roscommon 0-11 to 0-7 in O’Connor Park, Tullamore to seal a second All-Ireland title in a row.

From West Cork’s perspective, Clonakilty goalkeeper Róisín Duggan had a fine game, Kinsale’s Anna Kelleher was solid at corner back as was her club-mate, Caoimhe O’Donnell.

Castlehaven’s Ellen Connolly made a positive contribution while Áine Kearney (Kinsale) also impressed off the bench.

Evelyn McCarthy (Bandon), Hannah Deasy (Kinsale), Katie Murphy (Rosscarbery) and Caoimhe Foley (Courcey Rovers) were also around the panel.

Also on the show, we look back at Cork progressing to their sixth All-Ireland camogie in succession after a 2-16 to 0-17 victory over Tipperary.

West Cork natives Libby Coppinger and Millie Condon put in starring displays.
