In his book, No Place for Truth, Wells provides a historical look into the reasons behind the decline in theology and conviction among American thinkers. This book is so profound it still rings true today, more than 30 years later. In this episode, Mark Farnham talks and reads through the most relevant passages that still bring an indictment and challenge to us today.

The idea that science is necessarily at odds with faith is so deeply ensconced in the minds of Westerners that it is almost impossible to convince the average person that it is not so. Yet, historians of science know that the whole narrative is fabricated. In the late 19th century two men wrote books advancing this myth, which had been brewing for a couple of centuries. The spirit of the age at the turn of the century was delusionally optimistic about the ability of man, free from constraints of religion, to solve poverty, end wars, and usher in a utopia fit for John Lennon’s song, Imagine. The problem, however, is that without the foundational beliefs of religion, especially Christianity, science cannot be done. In this video, Mark and Jeff discuss the myth and expose it for what it is.

In the mid-1990s Mark Farnham, the Founder and Director of Apologetics for the Church,  met Frank Hamrick, the Founder and President of Positive Action for Christ, a Christian curriculum publisher and innovator in youth ministry. He was forever changed by the unique, God-centered life and theology that Frank had taught hundreds of his own youth and thousands of youth around the world. In these interviews, Frank explains how he was born to an atheist father and a mother pressured to abort him. The grace of God prevailed and his life was changed, as have been the lives of thousands affected by Frank’s passion for the glory of God.
