Hello!
Today, we speak with Daniel Gorringe. Daniel is best known for his unfiltered online sketch comedy and wildly successful AFL podcast, Dan Does Footy. At 18, Dan was drafted as a top-10 pick after pouring his teenage years into footy, but he decided to retire seven years later, when he reached one of the lowest points of his life.
In this conversation, Dan opens up about losing himself after finishing up with the AFL and the moment he nearly took his own life. He speaks about his journey into the AFL media space & why having your own back is the most important lesson of all. He also speaks about his relationship with his wife, Ana, and why becoming a Dad to his daughter, Poppy, sets the tone for everything.
This conversation details experiences of suicidal ideation. If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health or suicidal ideation, please head here or contact LifeLine on 13 11 14.
