Women Who Inspire Me | Gaur Gopal Das
During a recent Q&A session at an event, a lady asked me who my role models were. Without a second thought, I fondly remembered my late grandmother and my mother-along with my Guru, Radhanath Swami, and Shri Krishna. These two incredible women in my life displayed remarkable qualities through the challenges they faced. While I could recall only one quality for each at that moment, the truth is, I carry deep admiration, respect, and affection for both of them-always. Their love and support have shaped me in ways I'll forever be grateful for. I'm sure you, too, have come across strong, determined, and inspiring women who have left a lasting impact on your life. And here's the beauty of it-while we often celebrate the "Fe" in "Fe-male" for their iron-like strength, let's not forget that women also have a softness that can melt the toughest hearts. If iron represents resilience, then perhaps silk represents their grace-unbreakable yet effortlessly gentle. Let's celebrate the perfect balance of strength and softness that makes women truly extraordinary this International Women's Day! And if you'd like to share a personal story about a woman who inspired you, pls drop it in the comments below. PS: During the COVID times, we all had to do things we never could have imagined-things we would have never done if we had any other choice. We regret sending my grandma to a care home just as much as anyone would, but at that moment, we felt completely helpless. My sister's husband, my brother-in-law, who serves in public service, visited her regularly to check on her.
