Dr. Stacy Sims Is Leading a Team at the Super Age Games

    09/09/2026 | 47 mins.
We're revisiting a fan favorite this week: our September 2024 conversation with Dr. Stacy Sims, the exercise physiologist behind one of the most useful ideas in women's fitness: women are not small men, and their training shouldn't be built as if they were. We're getting excited because Dr. Sims is preparing to join us at the Super Age Games this November, and can’t wait to celebrate women in sports, science, and longevity alongside her. In this episode, Dr. Sims breaks down why women over 40 need to emphasize heavy lifting and high-intensity intervals, and why perimenopause is the pivot point that changes almost everything about how a woman's body responds to exercise.

    Key Moments
"Women don't age in a linear fashion like men do. Hormonal changes hit much earlier and more dramatically."
"For women over 40, lifting heavy isn't optional—it's essential for maintaining lean mass and bone density."
"Women are already metabolically flexible. High-intensity is where the real gains are."

Dr. Elizabeth Yurth on Replacing What the Body Stops Making

    03/09/2026 | 57 mins.
After twenty five years as a traditional orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Elizabeth Yurth walked away from a specialty she says patches the body instead of heals it. This was a shift that eventually led her to found the Boulder Longevity Institute. In this conversation, she explains why a common knee surgery called arthroscopic debridement has been abandoned in most countries, and why cheap, decades-old lab values like creatinine and ALT are routinely misread by doctors who are misinformed on these measures. She also makes the case for treating peptides the same way we treat hormones: as naturally occurring compounds the body simply stops producing with age, not a bodybuilding shortcut or a biohacking fad. Dr. Yurth leaves listeners with a clearer, more skeptical eye for what is being marketed to them, and a working definition of healthy aging that shifts the focus from simply a lab report.

    Key Moments
"If all we're doing is patching people back up for them to fall apart again, what are we doing wrong?"
"They actually found that 80% of people worsened after this surgery, not just didn't get better."
"I don't need an $800 immune test to tell me. I can look at your neutrophil [to] lymphocyte ratio."

Denise Kirtley: Stop Chasing Your Thirties

    27/08/2026 | 46 mins.
We're bringing back our May 2025 conversation with Denise Kirtley, the founder of Rebellion Body. As we look back on this message, Kirtley is preparing to head to the Super Age Games with the event's largest team yet, more than 50 women strong. Kirtley built her coaching business on the idea that midlife is not a decline to manage, but a version of life women get to design on purpose. In this conversation, she explains why belief, not willpower, is usually the first thing that has to change before a body does. She also gets into the backlash she receives for posting bikini photos in her fifties, her wariness about AI-generated bodies flooding social media, and why she thinks the phrase "50 is the new 30" gets the whole conversation backward. Listeners will come away with an answer to the question that stalls most people before they ever begin: what do you do on the days you don't feel motivated at all?

    Key Moments
"I always like to say my new thing is 50 is the new 50."
"I think people think motivation is like this mythical thing that all of a sudden the clouds open and you get the sign from the heavens that ‘Now is the time.’ It doesn't work that way. You just do it."
"We cannot worry about the things that naturally happen as we age."

    Why Coffee is Your Superfood

    20/08/2026 | 38 mins.
Before Andrew Salisbury became captivated by the biochemistry of coffee, he set a Guinness World Record jumping out of a helicopter tethered to a bungee cord over Cancun, part of a career that has swung between call center software, extreme sports, and now one of the country's fastest-growing coffee companies. In this conversation, the founder of Purity Coffee explains why much of the coffee on the market fails basic testing for mold and heavy metals, and walks through how various factors change how much of coffee's antioxidant benefit actually reaches your cup. He makes the case that coffee's health benefits come from its polyphenols and chlorogenic acids rather than its caffeine, a distinction he says the industry gets backward. Listeners will also hear about his newest venture, a honey partnership with an indigenous community in the Amazon, and why he thinks the choice of what you drink every single day matters more than most supplements.

"It's not the caffeine in the coffee that gives you the health benefits."
"You need to lab test [coffee] to make sure that it's free of mycotoxins."
"I went from the million dollar sort of systems that we were selling that would take a year, year and a half, to selling 25 dollar bags of coffee."

Kim Alexis: Fighting The Urge To Explain Yourself

    13/08/2026 | 33 mins.
Kim Alexis, 80s supermodel turned integrative health practitioner and host of the podcast Unexpired, talks about the mindset shift that let her build a real estate career, a fitness certification, and a health practice, all after turning 64. She explains why she has chosen against surgery, how she manages her arthritis, and why she makes conscious health decisions in her weekly routine. Alexis also opens up about her instinct to over-explain herself to fans who criticize her changing appearance, and the wisdom that has slowly replaced that people-pleasing habit with peace. She closes with what keeps her looking forward at 66: a new grandson, a growing podcast, and a daily practice of gratitude.
