The Plot Thickens

When Whit starts at the radio job (internship) she is quickly thrust (emphasis on thrust) into a situation (of her own making) where she's getting a little too cozy with a coworker. In radio, as Whit tells us, everything goes and you can get a lot more personal and explicit with radio folks than you can with other lines of work! Along with the workers comp issues - Whit threw out her back and it was "exacerbated" by the bagel run she did for her bosses - she also is having auto issues. The car she's been driving since the beginning just about burst into flame, totally preventing her from being at the LAST rehearsal before the St. Paddy's Day performance in Charlotte.

This week on The Plot Thickens, we’re confronting some hard topics - everything from old fashioned views on how relationships should work to how well couples should know each other is on the table - and don’t worry, none of it will be drama-free! First, we’ve got Whitney telling Glenn that she wants to move in with Lennie -spoiler alert, y’all: Glenn does NOT like the idea of his baby girl living in sin! Then we’ve got a disastrous couples game night with Whitney and Lennie and Buddy and Heather - Whit gets competitive over which couple knows each other better and she’s not going to like it when Lennie guesses her favorite food incorrectly! Finally, Whit’s heading out on a bike ride with the guys from Recycles and she’s learning that going for a casual couple miles with Lennie in the park is very different from a coordinated 10-mile ride. Will she make it through or embarrass herself in the process? Tune in to find out!

This week, we've got an episode of new opportunities for Whit. Whit's heading back to the gym with Will - after her first stair-stepping Rocky moment last week, she's back in the gym and weighing in. Also, Whitney's interviewing for a radio job - but it's not just any job, Whitney's going back to internship level! We took a deep dive into Whit's radio-rife past, and it turns out she was a big time producer back in Greensboro at a small local radio station. Looks like Whit got used to a lot of personal probes at her Greensboro radio job, and she's hoping to use those skills in her new job as Intern Whit. Babs is aghast - and has serious concerns about Whit's "comportment." Whit has the motivation to go back to radio? And at the entry-level, grabbing coffee and bagels? But what about those early hours and the long commute to Charlotte, NC? Whit's surprisingly game for this internship (even with the 3 AM wakeup).

It may be the 2026 Winter Olympics, but our focus is fully on a show that took place about ten years ago - My Big Fat Fabulous Life! Recapping MBFFL is OUR Olympics. We start off this week with another update from Ryan Andreas' "Ask Me Anything" segment on instagram, which received a lot of excitement from the MBFFL community (and a lot of boredom from Ryan's wife)! Episode 3 was another packed one in Season 3 of the show - we had to break it down into two pieces. Last time, we saw Whitney beg Will, her former trainer, to take her back and Will accepted Whit with open arms. In this half of the episode, Whitney's back with Will and she's possibly starting to regret that decision as he puts her fitness to the test in a bit of a challenge to assess her current level. Will Whit falter at the challenge or rise to the occasion?

Welcome back to an extremely tense episode - there’s heart-pumping, cardiologist-rolling drama left and right! In this first half of Episode 3, Whit makes a speech at her Alma mater, Appalachian State! Will she be crushed by questions she can’t answer, like “you’re not a doctor! What entitles you to an opinion on health at any size?” Or will she rise above by telling stories we wish Babs and Glenn didn’t have to hear about intimacy issues while being overweight?  Whit also visits her cardiologist for the first time, and begs for  Will, her former trainer, to take her back as a client.
