Kevin O'Ryan has spent virtually his entire life immersed in Irish racing, as a jockey, jockeys' agent and one of the most familiar faces on Irish racecourses.
In this edition of Inside Track: Ireland – In Conversation, Kevin sits down with Jane Mangan to tell the story behind the familiar television personality.
He reflects on the racing family and characters who shaped him, his own riding career and the unexpected opportunities that led him into broadcasting. Kevin also speaks movingly about his great friend Pat Smullen, the shock of Pat's cancer diagnosis and the phone call after his operation that Kevin will never forget.
And beneath Kevin's famously outgoing personality, Jane discovers an intensely competitive character driven by a fear of failure, whether he's representing his jockeys, working on television or simply trying to win.

Listowel takes centre stage on the latest episode of Inside Track: Ireland as Jane Mangan is joined by Barry Geraghty for a look ahead to the Harvest Festival, the Kerry National and a week that marks the changing of the seasons in Irish racing.
Barry looks back on his own Listowel memories, including his Kerry National wins on Monty's Pass and Alphabeat, while Jane and Barry assess a competitive Kerry National featuring Galway Plate winner King Alexander, Downmexicoway, Nowwhatdoyouthink, Will The Wise and a host of other contenders.
We also look ahead to the Lartigue Hurdle, Friday's feature handicap hurdle and the pattern action on the Flat, with thoughts on some of the horses who could make their mark as the National Hunt season gathers pace.
Pat Healy joins from Listowel to explain what the Harvest Festival means to the town, North Kerry and The Kingdom, as a whole. William Hill's Dave Kelner brings the latest trading-room perspective, including the horses the compilers are looking to keep on side. Plus, Barry reveals his NAP for the week and Jane puts up one of her own.
And, of course, there's the Mystery Horse, as Jane takes on Barry and the listeners once again.

Seven Group 1s across two days at Leopardstown and the Curragh as Jane Mangan, Emmet McNamara and new Inside Track: Ireland regular Kevin O’Ryan look ahead to a huge Irish Champions Festival.
The team break down the Irish Champion Stakes, Matron Stakes, Moyglare, Flying Five, National Stakes, Irish St Leger and the new Golden Fleece Stakes, with Kevin bringing some inside knowledge from the jockeys’ room.
