The Horrifying Hag of Detroit | A Forgotten Paranormal Case

    19/2/2026 | 45 mins.
In this episode of The Tape Library, we explore one of Detroit’s most disturbing and overlooked paranormal cases — The Horrible Hag of Michigan, also known as The Hag of Martin Street.

In the early 1960s, the Adams family reported terrifying experiences inside their home at 5508 Martin Street in Detroit, centered around a small back bedroom. What began as vivid nightmares escalated into shared witness encounters, unexplained sounds, foul odors, police involvement, and the alleged appearance of a grotesque female entity that left the family so frightened they abandoned the house entirely.

Told in a documentary-style narrative based strictly on eyewitness testimony, newspaper reports, and Michigan folklore sources, this episode examines one of the most unsettling cases in American paranormal history.

If you’re drawn to true ghost stories, real-life hauntings, Detroit urban legends, and deep paranormal documentaries, this is a case you won’t forget.

Subscribe to The Tape Library for more true paranormal cases, haunted house investigations, and real unexplained mysteries.

The Terrifying Mystery of Alaska’s Bay of Death

    05/2/2026 | 56 mins.
Thomas Bay, Alaska — a remote stretch of wilderness once feared by prospectors, avoided by Indigenous communities, and whispered about as “Devil’s Country” or “The Bay of Death.”

In the early 1900s, a prospector returned from this isolated region with a disturbing warning. He claimed to have encountered something unnatural deep in the forest. There were small, foul-smelling figures emerging from a hidden lake. An experience that left him shaken, traumatized, and unwilling to ever return. But he wouldn't be the only one to encounter the strangeness of this place. Thomas Bay appears to be a place where madness can take hold.

Years later, his account was preserved by writer Harry D. Colp, and eventually brought to light by his daughter, helping transform Thomas Bay into one of Alaska’s most unsettling legends.

In this episode of The Tape Library, we investigate:

The true story behind Thomas Bay

Harry D. Colp and the origins of the legend

    The prospector’s various terrifying accounts

Indigenous folklore and the Kushtaka connection

    Psychological, environmental, and rational explanations

And why this remote corner of Alaska still carries a reputation for dread

Is Thomas Bay simply an unforgiving wilderness shaped by fear and isolation?Or is there something about this place that people were never meant to understand?

This is The Tape Library—your home for paranormal, dark folklore, and the strangest stories ever told.

About The Tape Library - Archive of the Paranormal & the Unexplained

They said it was just a story. A haunting someone imagined. A light in the sky with a rational explanation. Just a noise in the walls. A mistake, a hoax. But over the years these stories seem to persist. And not all of them seem to have easy answers. This is The Tape Library. A collection of the paranormal, the strange, and the unexplained. Each episode examines a different case. These are the stories that keep me awake at night wondering "what if...". Told through immersive documentary style narrative, firsthand accounts, and whatever evidence still lingers. First, we hear the story. Then, we try to understand it. You might not believe all of it. You’re not supposed to. But everywhere has a ghost story. And someone needs to keep the record.
