This week we’re talking about the pressure on Irish influencers right now and why it feels like it’s impossible for them to win.
Gain weight? You’re criticised.
Lose weight? You’re “on Ozempic.”
Train for a 5K? You’re obsessed.
Do nothing? You’ve “let yourself go.”
The internet has opinions on everything, especially women’s bodies.
We also get into the TikTok Shop takeover. When did every scroll turn into an ad? If creators in Ireland aren’t getting proper monetisation tools like the Creator Fund, is it any surprise feeds are flooded with product links?
We then realise that actually we just HATE ads and pay every subscription known to man to avoid them 🥲
And then we spiral into nostalgia land, pirated DVDs, the 3-for-a-tenner man, xtravision nights & sun beds, and growing up in peak 2000s Ireland.
It’s opinionated. It’s nostalgic. It’s honest
