This week on Moment of Truth, Nick sits down with Gord Magill, author of End of the Road: Inside the War on Truckers, for an illuminating conversation about American labor.

Gord is a third-generation trucker from Canada who has driven across four countries and spent years figuring out why the industry that moves everything in America has become, in his words, “a complete dumpster fire." He breaks down the driver shortage narrative that the American Trucking Associations have been running since 1987… and why it has always been a lie. He also exposes the flood of non-domiciled CDLs being issued to people who don't speak English, and breaks down the big legal battles of the day with the Delilah's Law stall in Congress and the Supreme Court's Montgomery v. Caribe Bay decision.

This episode is a good reminder that behind every policy debate are legions of workers and logistics where livelihoods (and lives) are at stake.

They also explore the reindustrialization of America, the role small manufacturers play in the defense supply chain, the fight against the Green New Deal, and why the people saying Americans won't work manufacturing jobs are completely wrong.

Éric Zemmour — French author, journalist, presidential candidate, and one of the most important voices in the Western nationalist movement — joins Nick this week to discuss his landmark book, The Suicide of France, now available in English for the first time.

Zemmour walks through what France looked like in the era of De Gaulle, how assimilation worked and then broke, and how immigration turned from a managed flow into what he calls an invasion and then a colonization. He draws sweeping parallels between France's civilizational crisis and what is now unfolding in America, makes the case that Samuel Huntington was right, explains the Molotov-Ribbentrop dynamic between woke ideology and political Islam.

Through all that, he insists that there is still yet hope for France and for America, but only if the people will mobilize to defend their way of life and their future.

This week on Moment of Truth, Nick sits down with Dr. Mark Mitchell, Dean of Academic Affairs at Patrick Henry College and author of the forthcoming book Breaking Babel, for one of the most theologically and philosophically rich conversations the show has had yet.

The subject is AI, but not in the way you usually hear it discussed.

Dr. Mitchell proposes that the Tower of Babel is a lens for understanding what happens when human beings use language and technology to usurp the authority of God, and follows that thread all the way through large language models, artificial general intelligence, the epidemic of loneliness, the collapse of genuine human competency, and what it means that we are increasingly unable to tell the difference between communion with a person and the simulation of one.

He also makes a sharp distinction between tool AI and general AI, cleanly dividing using a tool from the worship of a tool made in one’s own image.

This episode is more philosophy than policy, but it offers a clear and constructive voice from the AI-skeptical camp.
