This seminar turns from the head to the heart, asking not just why evil exists, but where God is in the midst of it. Through personal story, biblical reflection, and the hope of the Gospel, Alanzo Julian Paul helps us see that God is not indifferent to our hurt. If you’ve ever wondered whether God truly sees and cares about your suffering, this session is for you.

Peter & Heather Lyle - More Than We Hoped For: A Pastoral Conversation on Infertility and Faith
Peter and Heather’s journey—like many others—was marked by longing, disappointment, hope, and the quiet support of friends and strangers alike. It’s a story of God’s faithfulness, gentle leading, and answered prayer, woven through seasons of faltering trust and deep yearning. This seminar will explore fertility and the role of families, church families and friends in this often complex path. With honest insight and practical ideas, it offers hope, guidance, and encouragement for those who long for children, those who walk with them, and churches seeking to care well.

Sara Stevenson - Critical Thinking and Education
This seminar will provide examples of how critical thinking is important for the development of your faith and character. Additionally, we’ll address what critical thinking is and explore various ways of how to do critical thinking by integrating examples of logical thinking with our desire to engage with story and creativity. We will also evaluate how these methods are inspired by listening to the spirit of God. We will apply critical thinking to engaging our faith within education, thinking of ways to share your faith as a teacher, parent or student.

Andrew Collins - Forgiveness: the Why, the How and the Challenge
‘Forgive one another as God has forgiven you’. A short sentence with a world of complexity behind it. This seminar will aim to set out the biblical foundation of God’s forgiveness, look at the practical implications for our relationships, and also face some of the ways we can easily stumble as we seek to forgive.
New Horizon is a seven day Christian festival that takes place every year on the Ulster University campus in Coleraine, set on the picturesque north coast of Northern Ireland. It exists to provide a space and time in which thousands of people of all ages can be taught from the bible, be inspired through worship and story, develop a missional heart, and engage with relevant and challenging issues. The event has been running in NI since 1989 and we are very much looking forward to seeing and hearing what God has in store for us in the years and decades to come.
