  • Norm Nathan's Vault of Silliness with Tony Nesbitt - Ep 233 - Not So Pitch Perfect
Let me begin with a question. I don’t know what the dealio is with the subscribers. 255, 254 then 260 and now 259? YouTube, you’re killin’ me smalls. Thank you.  Ok. What better way to close out the month of fools then to use a DBG from MAY 1st. The year was 1994. A few broadcast notes before we get to the game: Some brief static invades the show early and was a sign of the impending doom to come. We have a short section of garbled tape that IS audible to a degree. It’s funny as we slow down and speed up and that gives us our title: Not So Pitch Perfect The worst of it only lasts approx. 5 minutes. After the 15.00 mark, the devil has been exorcised, and we return to clarity! Our title also describes the many puns and jokes that fail miserably. Players: Arlene in Philadelphia Rick from PA Mike in Billerica Julie from MI Rob Floyd in Traffic Emilio Marotta Tony Nesbitt on the phone from parts unknown   Bdays: Glenn Ford Judy Collins Jack Paar Scott Carpenter Rita Coolidge   Event: Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane premiered on May 1st in what year?   Ep 233, Not So Pitch Perfect, squirrels its way to your ears in 3,2 and 1.

There are many classic moments in this episode. SO many that I had to title it: The Highlight Reel-to-Reel. Same for Buy Me A Coffee, which is like a tip jar. Any and all support is welcome and thank you, always, to those that have already done so. For your convenience I’ve included the links in the description box below. Now to what you came here for! Both literal and some jokes that make you say, “Huh?” It is a DBG from April 9th, 1994 and I’ve titled it: Would You Care for a Lozenge? Continuing with the best theme for April, the month of Fools, is a DBG from April 4th, 1996. Norm was filling in for Bob Raleigh and was in the midst of 10 days in a row of overnights. This game is a hoot. Norm’s Arthur Godfrey impressions are spot on and as hilarious as ever, thus giving us our title: Oh, My Godfrey!   Players: The wonderful, wonderful Jack Harte Tom Howie producing and playing in studio Jodie in Hyde Park Bridget from Ontario Grace in RI   Bdays: Andre Previn Merle Haggard Billy Dee Williams Michelle Philips John Ratzenberger Marilu Henner Bert Blyleven   Ep 230, Oh, My Godfrey! sings its way to your ears in 3,2 and 1.

About Norm Nathan's Vault of Silliness with Tony Nesbitt

Norm Nathan’s Vault of Silliness will air the personal collection of the Norm Nathan Show for which I produced on WBZ-AM from 1989 until his sudden passing on October 29th, 1996. Norm spent 50+ years in Boston Broadcasting working at WCOP, WESX, WMEX, WHDH, WEEI, WRKO, WMRE and WBZ. Whether news, talk or music…he did it, sometimes combining them all. Many of the recordings you will hear were sent to me by a fan and friend, Joan McCool. Others are from my personal collection. They will air as recorded, with the warmth an old, analog tape recording provides. Some with good, ol’fashioned home editing of the play/pause button. And ALL with the ever-comforting voice of Uncle Norm. Thank you just so darn much for tuning in!
