    28. REASSURANCE SCANS, CARAVAN PARKS AND CO-DEPENDENCY

    11/03/2026 | 47 mins.
This week we come to realise that no matter what we do, this pregnancy will always be viewed through the filter of IVF. We talk about the struggles that may bring , but also staying true to our mission statement -  which is to normalise conversation around IVF.

Lauren has a wobble which ends up with us going for an extra “reassurance scan” where we almost misgender our unborn baby. Whilst there Lauren also comes to a strong decision that no one is calling her “mama” yet.

We talk about our wintry visit to an out of season caravan park and we finally take a quiz to determine whether or not we are co-dependent.

    27. MEDS, MOTHERHOOD AND MORTAL ENEMIES

    04/03/2026 | 53 mins.
This week we talk about Jim Carrey’s clone and a near death experience in a Ryanair toilet. David’s grumpy and moans about everything.

We talk about the horrors of soft play and David meets his mortal enemy. Lauren also tells David he’s the poor man’s Rafe Spall. In a totally non-gratuitous way we also talk about trying to find intimacy again after the cold, clinical process of IVF.

We do a deep-dive into baby-scan PTSD, having navigated so many traumatic ones, Lauren talks about how new, crippling pregnancy symptoms are cropping up every day and we also discuss our first booking appointment with the Midwife. We also try to figure out why it’s so damn hard to get hold of medication for pregnant women.

We talk through our existential dread now that the world is almost always on fire and whether we could keep doing the Podcast and raise a family from a nuclear bunker.

    26. HOW DO YOU EAT AN ELEPHANT?

    25/02/2026 | 55 mins.
This week we spiral into new depths of paranoia; as we try to navigate early pregnancy after multiple failed attempts. We now don’t trust anything; symptoms, tests, Doctors, or each other.

We get a little closer to finding out if we are actually massively co-dependent or not, as at the moment David s**ts himself every time Lauren leaves the room. We realise that the Algorithm has never been more sinister as it feels like it's sent to destroy us and all of our joy.

We have a debate on how to eat an Elephant and if it’s worth the risk as the other Elephants may be having a funeral nearby for their recently departed friend and you’ll prolly get trampled to death in the end anyway.

David decides to get his mid-life crisis out of the way before we have a child, as it’ll just be all the more exhausting when they’re here - the upshot? An earring, prolly.

We do something grown up and attend a fertility conference in London and become slightly less “potatoes with a microphone” as we share all of our discoveries. With this, we discuss add-ons and if they are actually really worth looking into when navigating IVF.

We also touch on why less and less people are having children these days and it makes us doubt this whole damn thing.

    25. PEEING IN CUPS BUT FEELING F**IN' FABULOUS!

    18/02/2026 | 40 mins.
T/W this week we talk about positive and negative results as well as loss.

This week we discuss testing positive after multiple failed rounds and the constant anxiety that comes with it - also the feeling that a lot of those happy milestone moments are dulled or reduced by previous experiences.

Lauren’s brain has become 100% jellyfish and she can barely remember her own name. We talk about how we know better - but still do 29 pregnancy tests a day, how getting any prescriptions related to high risk pregnancy seem to come with needing to get your own medical degree before anyone gives you anything and how symptoms vary from round to round.
We also discuss how it’s easy to feel disconnected from an IVF pregnancy after such a clinical process.

Lauren decides she’s immune to therapy, and in classic “two potatoes with a mic” fashion, we figure out why IVF in Saudi Arabia features a couples room instead of the “sad little room for boys.”

    24. SCHRODINGER'S UTERUS AND THE TWO-WEEK-WAIT

    11/02/2026 | 44 mins.
We are bang-smack in the emotional hellscape that is the two-week-wait. We deep-dive into Lauren’s medical protocol and how it has left her physically, emotionally, mentally and financially drained, yet somehow -  funnier.

We talk injections in public and in our specific case this week, in the accessible toilet at a theatre, which nearly leads to a criminal record and David getting cancelled.

David lies about his A-level results and Lauren explains a very basic metaphor to him, which he still doesn’t grasp. We talk about our brother-in-law saving Lauren’s Dad’s life (true story) and how it means David will never be the favourite - ever. Also for some reason we talk about why people put dogs in prams.

We discuss how to survive the famous IVF 2WW and the sense of dread that it brings.

T/W - This week we talk about loss and positive and negative results.
