We did it again! We got another amazing guest! A truly womderful woman it's Lauren Marcus!  From Be More Chill and the Jonathan Larson project, she is currently the book writer for the hopefully it's coming soon Girls Just Wanna Have Fun musical! But that's just one of the many projects she's working on she also has a play called Jackie Lee about a true story that happened to her that I cannot wait to hear more about.
We dish about loving actors, applying for grants, covering for Cassie Levy, and how to mom and also be a creative. Spoiler - it's super hard. We end with writing a song together and doing a HOT SCENE/COLD READ about other mothers.

With The Tonys just a few days away, we were lucky enough to catch Cats The Jellicle Ball's co-director Zhailon Levingston for a minute to chat all about the exciting revival which sets CATS in the ballroom world! He explains how a joke of an idea to do CATS without CATS became the Jellicle Ball when a friend connected him to Bill Rausch who was also thinking about a new version of CATS.
We dish about how they couldn't change the music but if they could, what song he would want to attack first, what he brings back to Broadway after directing community theater in his local hometown, and he answers the question, why this revival and why now??

Today on the pod we are so lucky to have director Jack Serio! Jack has made a name for himself as an interactive, small space, actor driven director and we pick his brain about all the nitty gritty stuff that goes into making a show feel realistic. His hit play "Well, I'll let you go" is in it's second iteration after a sold out run and is getting rave reviews. 
We dish about what makes a show feel urgent, what a director actually does, how he loves to be collaborative and what he would tell people about getting something made. Spoiler! There's no magic answer...if you want to see something get made call on your resources and make it!
