414 // Why You Might Be Feeling Stuck When Decorating Your Home (And What To Do About It)
11/09/2026 | 16 mins. Why You Might Be Feeling Stuck When Decorating Your Home (And What to Do About It)
If you feel stuck when decorating your home, the problem probably isn’t that you need more inspiration, better taste, or a bigger budget. More often, you’re stuck because you’re second-guessing your decisions, trying to solve too much at once, or letting a limiting belief keep you from taking the next step. The good news? You can get unstuck by creating a simple plan and taking one small, confident step forward.
I’ve seen this happen again and again with women who want a cozy, welcoming home but just can’t seem to get from “I know what I like” to actually making it happen.
And recently, I watched it happen with about 10 women who were willing to take that first step.
They came into the process with different homes, different budgets, different decorating styles, and very different reasons for feeling stuck.
But underneath it all were some surprisingly familiar limiting beliefs.
Things like:
“I don’t know where to start.”
“I’m afraid I’ll make the wrong decision.”
“I love color but I don't know how to bring it in to my home.”
“I can’t afford to do what I want.”
“I should be able to figure this out myself.”
“What if I buy something and hate it?”
“I have kids and pets so I can't have nice things.”
Once they stopped letting those thoughts run the decorating show, things started to change.
In This Episode
Why having tons of decorating inspiration can actually make you feel more stuck
The limiting beliefs that can keep you from making decisions in your home
What happened when 10 women took the first step instead of waiting until they had the whole plan figured out
The difference between knowing what you like and knowing what to do next
How to stop second-guessing your decorating decisions
Why a cozy home isn't about having more stuff or spending more money
An introduction to the Cozy Home Reset and how it can help you move from decorating overwhelm to cozy confidence
Why You're Feeling Stuck Decorating Your Home
Here's something I want you to hear if you've been staring at the same room for months, saving ideas on Pinterest, buying a few things here and there, and still wondering why your home doesn't feel finished:
You are probably not lacking inspiration.
You might actually have too much of it.
You've saved the rooms. You've pinned the paint colors. You've found the rug. You've looked at the pretty kitchens and cozy living rooms and bedrooms and thought, YES. That's what I want.
But inspiration doesn't tell you what to do next. And that's where so many women get stuck. You don't need another 47 saved images. You need to make a decision. Then another one.
Then another.
And you need to know that those decisions are moving you toward a home that feels cohesive, comfortable, welcoming, and like a place you're proud to live in.
The Limiting Beliefs That Keep Us Stuck
The women I worked with recently reminded me just how powerful our thoughts can be when we're decorating. Because sometimes the thing standing between you and the room you want isn't the room. It's the story you're telling yourself about the room.
Maybe you believe you have to have a big budget.
Maybe you think you need to know your decorating style before you can make a single decision.
Maybe you're afraid of getting it wrong.
Maybe you've convinced yourself that because you're not a designer, you shouldn't trust your own instincts.
Or maybe you've simply been trying to solve your entire house at once.
Those beliefs can keep you circling the same decisions for years. But when you take one step, you create momentum. And momentum creates confidence. And confidence makes the next decision easier. That's what I saw happen with these women.
The Cozy Home Reset
This is also why I created the Cozy Home Reset.
It's for the woman who is ready to stop collecting inspiration and actually start making progress in her home. The Reset isn't about transforming your entire house overnight. Instead, we start with one room and one clear plan.
We'll look at what you already have, what you want your home to feel like, what's working, what's not, and what needs to happen next.
You'll get a 60-minute one-on-one Room Reset Call with me, along with six months inside the Cozy Home Collective so you have support as you put your plan into action.
The goal isn't perfection. It's cozy confidence. It's knowing what to do next, making decisions you feel good about, and finally seeing your home come together in a way that feels like you.
If you've been stuck, you don't need to wait until you have more time, more money, or more decorating knowledge.
You just need to take the first step.
Ready to get unstuck?

04/09/2026 | 19 mins.Caution: This Decorating Process May Cause You to Fall in Love With Your Home!! !
What happens when you finally feel confident decorating your home?
When you understand how to make decorating decisions that actually fit your home, your style and the way you live, decorating can become much less overwhelming...and a whole lot more delightful. The women featured in this episode discovered that creating a home they love wasn't about having perfect taste or an unlimited budget. It was about having a process, a plan and the confidence to move forward.
And apparently...that can be contagious.
I've spent a lot of time talking to you about what it looks like to create a cozy home, but sometimes I think the best way to understand the process is to hear from the women who've actually done it.
So today, you're going to meet Susan, Loraine and Nicole.
Three women. Three homes. Three very different starting points.
But they all had something in common...
They wanted to love their homes more.
They wanted to stop second-guessing themselves.
And they wanted someone to help them see what they couldn't quite see on their own.
In these conversations, they share what changed, what surprised them, what it was like to work with me and what happened when they finally had a process they could trust.
And honestly...I think you'll hear something really important in their stories:
You don't have to be naturally "good at decorating" to create a home that delights you.
Sometimes you just need someone to help you see what's possible.
In this episode, you'll hear:
Susan's experience transforming her home and how she feels about the changes
Loraine's story and the shift that happened when decorating started to feel less overwhelming
Nicole's experience working through the process and seeing her home differently
What these women learned about trusting their own decorating instincts
What it can feel like when your home finally starts to reflect you
A little reminder...
If you've been listening to me talk about creating a cozy home and thinking, "That sounds lovely, but I don't know where to start," you're exactly who I created the Cozy Home Workshop for.
We're going to take some of the mystery and overwhelm out of decorating and help you understand what your home needs...so you can stop staring at Pinterest and start making progress in your own house.
The Cozy Home Workshop is happening NEXT WEEK.
If you've been waiting for a sign to take that first step, perhaps this is it.
And as Susan, Loraine and Nicole will tell you...that first step can lead to a whole lot more than a prettier room.
It can lead to delight.
Listen, then take the next step
If you're ready to learn how to create a home that feels cohesive, personal and cozy...come join me for the Cozy Home Workshop.
You'll leave with a clearer understanding of what your home needs and practical steps you can actually take to move forward.

28/08/2026 | 14 mins. How to Feel Confident Decorating Your Home (Even If You Don't Trust Your Own Taste Yet)
How do you become more confident decorating your home?
You become more confident when you stop relying on endless inspiration and start learning a simple process for making decorating decisions. Confidence doesn't come from suddenly knowing exactly what to buy or having perfect taste...it comes from understanding your own style, making decisions, and learning to trust yourself along the way.
Have you ever looked at a room in your home and thought, I know what I like when I see it...I just don't know how to make it happen in my house?
Maybe you've saved hundreds of beautiful rooms on Pinterest. Maybe you've taken the quizzes, followed the designers, wandered through HomeGoods and Target, and still find yourself standing in your own living room wondering what the heck you're supposed to do.
Here's the thing...
You probably don't need more inspiration.
You need confidence.
And sometimes, the easiest way to begin building your own confidence is to borrow someone else's for a little while.
In this episode, I'm talking about what actually changes when you start trusting yourself with your home...and why having someone walk alongside you can help you build the confidence to eventually make those decisions on your own.
In this episode, we'll talk about:
Why more Pinterest inspiration isn't necessarily going to make you more confident decorating your home
How having a process can help you stop second-guessing every decorating decision
Why past decorating attempts that didn't stick aren't proof that you're bad at decorating
What to do when you feel like you don't have enough time to tackle your home
How borrowing someone else's confidence can help you begin building your own
Why you don't need to overhaul your entire house to start making meaningful progress
You don't need to become a completely different person to create a home you're proud of.
You don't need perfect taste.
You don't need a giant budget.
And you definitely don't need another 400 Pinterest pins.
You need a way to make decisions...and enough confidence to make the next one.
Because eventually, the goal isn't to need Dani to tell you what to do.
The goal is to learn enough that you can look at your own home and think, "I know what this needs."
And that is a very different kind of decorating confidence.
Something is coming very soon that was created specifically to help you get there...and I'll be sharing more about it next week.
Keep listening

21/08/2026 | 23 mins. You've taken the quizzes. You've saved 400 pins. You still don't know what your home is supposed to look like — and it's not because you lack taste.
In this episode, I'm naming the real reason you feel stuck in your home (hint: it's not motivation, and it's not you). We're breaking down the three things quietly sabotaging every decision you try to make — decision fatigue from endless online options, the lingering fear from a past decorating mistake, and generic advice that was never built for your actual life.
Then I'm teaching you the distinction that changes everything: aesthetic vs. design style. Design style labels — farmhouse, coastal, transitional — are generic categories assigned by big box stores and algorithms. They tell you what to buy. Your aesthetic is different: it's personal, specific, and it accounts for how you actually live. Once you know the difference, you stop shopping for a label and start designing for your life.
In this episode:
Why "more options" online is making home decor decisions harder, not easier
The hidden cost of a past decorating mistake (and why it's silently running your choices)
Why design style quizzes give you a category, not a plan
The real difference between aesthetic and design style — and how to start identifying yours
Why the right filter makes decisions easier, not because you have more information, but because you finally know what to say no to
If you've ever stood in a half-decorated room wondering where to even start, this episode will show you why — and what actually needs to shift.
Next week: what it actually looks like on the other side of stuck.
