This conversation was so much fun. I invited two of my favorite diviners, Erin Kelley and Mallory Dowd – both of whom are brilliant tarot readers and intuitives in their own rights.
We discussed their relationship with The Wheel of Fortune card: what they think of when this card comes up in personal and client readings, their favorite ways to be with the inevitable changes and surprises in life, and how this archetype might color 2026 energetically.
We also invoked some of our favorite Tarot thinkers by reading passages from their writings:
* Jessica Dore’s Tarot for Change
* Amanda Yates Garcia’s article 2026 is our year to break the Wheel of Fortune
* Christine Payne-Towler’s Tarot of The Holy Light
* Sallie Nichols’s Tarot and the Archetypal Journey: The Jungian Path from Darkness to Light
Mallory Dowd (she/they) is an intuitive tarot reader, therapist, and artist in love with the world. Her work draws on her clinical training, lived experience, studies in tarot and astrology, and earth-based spiritual practices. Mallory is interested in grief, imagination, and play and is devoted to the honest, slow work of healing through relationship. Mallory offers intuitive tarot readings, therapeutic support, and spiritual and creative mentorship. They share their writing on Instagram and Substack and are currently working on two podcasts: Seeding Spells (daily divinations and love notes from the tarot) and an upcoming conversational podcast about love and grief.

Erin Kelley is a writer, devotional astrologer, and esoteric strategist with a feral heart. Her intuitive gift of right timing is the essence behind her work, affectionately called Slow Magick. Erin believes desire is holy, change happens when it is time, and that Eros is the driving impulse connecting this moment to the next. Before leaping into her second act, Erin spent over a decade creating award-winning go-to-market strategies. She now uses her instinctual abilities with her well-honed analytical skills to craft practical, effective recommendations for engaging with the subtle realm in everyday life. Erin offers astrological consultations and mentorship, is the steward and facilitator of several charmed offerings, and is the producer, editor, and host of The Nature of Invisible Things podcast. She finds much joy and satisfaction in sharing her love of the divinatory arts, helping others reconnect with the magick within and re-enchant their lives.
