Connor and Dylan are joined by Andréa Burns (A Walk on the Moon, In the Heights). Before chatting with this Broadway legend, the boys reflect on moving to NYC exactly 10 years ago in June of 2016. Andréa, an iconic New Yorker herself, currently stars in the original musical A Walk on the Moon. She ruminates on portraying the Jewish matriarch of a family of strong women in the summer of 1969, the experience of working with female creatives, and starring alongside Talia Suskauer, Sam Gravitte, and more incredible actors. We revisit highlights from Andréa’s enduring theatre career, such as making her Broadway debut as Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, the emotionally impactful experience of performing in The Notebook, and charting her journey as Daniela in the original cast of Lin Manuel-Miranda’s In the Heights. West Side Story recurs throughout this warm and wonderful chat, as Andréa speaks about the show’s cosmic beauty: from making her international touring debut as Maria, starring opposite (and meeting!) her future husband, and playing an original role in the Steven Spielberg film version in 2021. We also cover The Full Monty, Songs for a New World, books, and beautiful Broadway stories. Don’t miss Andréa star in A Walk on the Moon this summer in NYC!
