  • MY SON'S A QUEER (BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO?) with Rob Madge
"Think of the magic that you can create!" Inspiring words from Rob Madge's triumphant and hilarious celebration of identity, creativity, and the profound bond between parents and their child. As a child, Rob filled their home with grand performances, transforming into Mary Poppins, Ariel, and Belle with the help of homemade costumes, boundless imagination, and a little technical assistance (and occasional interference) from Dad. Their parents never said no—to a parade in the living room, to a costume change mid-scene, to a dream too big for the space it was staged in. Now, through a treasure trove of home videos and theatrical magic, My Son’s a Queer (But What Can You Do?) brings those moments to life, celebrating the power of childhood imagination, and the profound impact of parents who simply say “yes.” Connect with GOOD SHOW! • BECOMING EVE with Emil Weinstein
A week before the High Holidays, three rabbis find themselves in a room fighting to save a family by building a bridge between orthodoxy and modernity. One of these rabbis is Chava, the child of a dynastic Hasidic rabbinical family and destined to become a leader of the next generation before the revelation of her trans identity clashed explosively with the strictly gendered world in which she was raised. As we jump through memory—and wrestle with theology—truths and secrets emerge that ensure no one will read the old stories the same way again. Sarah chats with playwright, Emil Weinstein about this exciting new play, Becoming Eve. EMIL WEINSTEIN (Playwright) is a writer and director whose work spans theater, television, and filmmaking. He graduated from the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale, where he directed the first workshop production of Slave Play by Jeremy O. Harris. His productions as a theater director include Twelfth Night and Romeo & Juliet at Two River Theater, Comedy of Errors and As You Like It (upcoming) at the Old Globe, and developmental work with EnGarde Arts, Rattlestick Theater, Shakespeare and Company, and New York Theatre Workshop. For television, Emil worked as a staff writer on Amazon’s “A League of Their Own,” and directed four episodes for the final season of “The L Word Generation Q” for Showtime. His short films “Candace” and “In France Michelle is a Man’s Name” played at festivals around the world, winning multiple awards including two Academy Award Qualifying Grand Jury Prizes. Becoming Eve is Emil’s Off-Broadway playwriting debut.
